Training Camp is an inspirational story filled with invaluable lessons and insights on bringing out the best in yourself and your team. The story follows Martin, an un-drafted rookie trying to make it in the NFL. He's spent his entire life proving to the critics that a small guy with a big heart can succeed against all odds. After spraining his ankle in the pre-season, Martin thinks his dream is lost - but then he meets a very special coach who shares 11 life-changing lessons that keep his dream alive, and might even make him the best of the best.
If you want to be your best, Training Camp offers an inspirational story and real-world wisdom on what it takes to reach true excellence and how you and your team (your work team, school team, church team, and family team) can achieve it.
I'm not a religious person at all, and I loved this book. Through the story, you keep hearing references of "Him" and "God" and at first it bothered me. But then IT happened.... In the story you are reminded that faith isn't about religion, it's about your relationship with whatever you believe in. I thoroughly appreciate that about this book.
In other topics, the story is great and does outline plenty of traits of achievers and successful people. It demonstrates how all that is not accomplished by one person, but all those around that person as well.

Jon narrates himself in a very fast moving story. Prepare to think and prepare for a surprise. I think I get it now.
A great book for coaches and players and people who want to be successful. Only issue that could be improved is the split of chapters.
Jon Gordon presents this book on how the best become the best in a way that I could only describe as BEST!
After the first chapter I was sucked in.
While this book uses athletic terminology it is most certainly a book for anyone who wants to be the best in whatever field they are in!
This story teaches critical life lessons that many never learn. It’s the key to success in all that you do by any definition of success. Please read and share with others, the world will be a better place.
This is an inspiring story that teaches some really valuable lessons. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you Jon!
I've read a couple of Jon Gordon books and he never hides his Christian faith but this one is pretty heavy handed. If you are a very faith-based individual, you'll probably enjoy this book. If you're not, this might rub you the wrong way. There a couple of good nuggets outside of the religious context but you can get the same ideals from the Energy Bus or the Hard Hat without the strong Christian overtones.
Quick aand easy to get through where you feel down or need some help take the 3 hours. Worth it. 3rd book of his I have
Very inspiring book that causes deep thinking and a focus to be a better person. This is a book that will bless your life. Great lessons in story form.
