Great explaination of theology

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend this to anyone interested in the study of why Catholic Church does the things that they do. It is fair, open minded, and not condemning of even the themes that the author disagrees with. I truly enjoy the non-judgemental way of presentation.

What does R. C. Sproul bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Sproul brings a huge amount of great theology, and thorough knowledge of Biblical themes, and Catholic practices. He also brings a very deep knowledge of the history of the church in general, and the catholic church in particular.

Have you listened to any of R. C. Sproul’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

not necessarily, but I did finish it quickly

Any additional comments?

not sure that he was accurate on all counts, but clearly has studied the topic from a protestant perspective

A Scholarly & Fair Presentation

R.C. Sproul revealed a great measure of patients and fairness in this thoughtful study series. This is exactly what I was wanting in a study of Catholicism, especially when the study is being presented from a protestant perspective. He also did not disappoint me in the depth of scholarship that he was able to bring to this very contentious subject matter.

R.C. Sprout is mind blowing

This is an excellent series of lectures, I feel like I am right in the classroom with him. Even when he speaks with the class he does an excellent job explaining their answers so you do not miss a thing. Extremely educational and mind blowing, full of ah-ha moments and so respectful to the Roman Catholic Church as well. You will not regret this purchase.

Brief for Sproul but informative as expected

i was glad it bypassed justification by faith and focused on less spoken on issues of Romance catholicism.

As a Catholic, I found it hurtful and offensive

What was most disappointing about R. C. Sproul’s story?

I found the wording and phrasing of the lectures to be hurtful and offensive as a Roman Catholic. He makes the Church sound ugly, archaic and wrong. I expected a more factual, unbiased discussion of the differences between the Catholic and Protestant canons.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The recording was very bad and the volume changes throughout the lecture series.

My heart hurts

My heart hurts over the misled congregation of this institution. While the church urges you not to do so on your own, I would have anyone of the Catholic faith who desires God's assurance to carefully read chapters 17 and 18 of Revelation. May God reveal to you what He has to many concerning the city of Rome and the institution of the Catholic Church. "Children come out of her."

Catholics are blind

This information is well organized and presented. Many Catholics do not know their own religion.

Excellent overview

An excellent overview and insight into the fundamental issues and their origins that explain why Roman Catholicism differs so profoundly from Reformed/Protestantism yet to many these differences can appear superficial.

A very helpful and objective review for someone ignorant of the beliefs and theology of the RC church.
