Sintesi dell'editore

The breakdown of Europe's Eastern Bloc proves that the map of Europe cannot be redrawn merely to serve political ends. Perhaps no country illustrates this more clearly than Poland, whose borders often have been a negotiating tool of the Big Powers. These presentations enlighten our understanding of the current drama in Eastern Europe.

The World's Political Hot Spots series explains the basis of conflicts in some of the world's most politically sensitive areas. Many of these regions are in today's headlines, and tensions recently have become violent in virtually all of them. Each presentation covers up to 10 centuries of background, revealing how and why today's problems occur.

Great history, stupid performance!

Any additional comments?

Good and entertaining history audio book. The idea of having different people and voices is really great. But why do people talk with such a crazy and stupid accent? It is not only difficult to understand what is being said, some times, but also very irritating. What is the point?

Not specially insightful

I like this series, but the "Poland" entry didn't offer much depth. It reminded me of a college freshman Western Civ overview textbook.

The Poles, Proud and Resilient

Well presented and easy to follow I would have preferred a single narrator The Russians still have not changed!

The book is good. It is informative, a good starting place, but too short for th money.
