Sintesi dell'editore
After an impressive performance in front of a full house, local college basketball stand-out Davonte Blair celebrates the victory with a few friends.
But when a fierce argument over drugs ensues, the evening takes a violent turn — and one member of the group goes missing.
When police discover the body of the basketball team manager, the town turns into a tinderbox of emotions. The media is calling it a hate crime. The college president is desperate to avoid a scandal. And the police department is under intense pressure to solve the horrific case.
As defense attorney Sam Johnstone looks into the murder, the case grows even more complicated. Ronnie Norquist, the son of Sam’s longtime friend and law partner, was the dead student’s roommate — and Ronnie was there the night his roommate disappeared. His personal and professional worlds colliding, Sam can tell Ronnie knows more than he’s letting on. But what is it that Ronnie witnessed? And whose guilt does it prove?
In a case that’s full of circumstantial evidence and competing versions of truth, Sam must find out what really happened — before this college town tears itself apart.

Outstanding legal thriller series
One and Done is Book 2 in the Sam Johnstone legal thriller series by James Chandler. The series is set in a small college town Wyoming with a young attorney who lost a leg to an IED in Iraq. This novel is about the trial of a young black college basketball player who is charged with killing a friend. Sam Johnstone is the young man's lawyer. Narration by James Anderson Foster is superb.

Story ok but too much repituon
circumstantial evidence explained very repetitively. Each character was told same thing but reader has already heard it.

Thrilling
This novel was full of twists and turns and it really felt like you were getting the insiders take into the legal end of things. I highly recommend this fantastic novel. Buckle up for the last few chapters though…you won’t be able to stop listening.

So Much Potential
This is the second book in a series of three Sam Johnstone books. I enjoyed the first one although I found it a bit preachy. Hopped directly to book two, one and Done and was disappointed. It was even more preachy and a great deal of it appears to be a quick write, cut and paste, from the first book. There are long portions of dialog that are repetitive and annoying and are indicative of word count padding. I will not be reading book three. I am Two and Done.
James Anderson Foster was OK with the delivery of the story

Very enjoyable!
Great story with wonderfully depicted characters and an excellent plot! Can't wait to listen to the next one in the series from James Chandler. Hoping James A Foster continues the narration. Highly recommend!

Gripping Legal Drama!
This story was realistic and timely. The author made all of the major characters sympathetic. Sam Johnstone is a flawed hero, who is virtuous and brave.

SURPRISE
I loved the book and narration.
The author sure surprised me. I thought that after the trial results, I would stop listening to the book. I was confused to learn that there was another chapter. At that point I was curious about what was going on. I'm really glad I stuck with it. It wasn't a typical ending. I'm going to recommend the book to my friends and family. Thanks for the exciting read.
