Sintesi dell'editore

After retrieving fresh lobster nets from a local laundromat, Cass Halloran rushes to attend a last-minute gathering with her knitting circle. But Cass can't stop worrying about the lonely boy she saw hanging around the dryers and the school uniform he left behind in a hurry. When she and her friends return the lost clothing the next day, they find the child and his younger sister alone, seemingly abandoned by their mother.

The knitters decide to facilitate a family reunion, but when the death of a recluse from the edge of town occurs, they end up investigating a crime instead - especially once they discover that the missing mother and one of their own are tied to both the victim's hidden fortune and her murder....

Before scandalous secrets break bonds and rumors tear Sea Harbor apart, the Seaside Knitters must string together the truth about the victim all while preventing a greedy murderer from making another move!

Much better!

This book focused more on the mystery and less on the fiber and art end of things which is a good thing as I found it annoying in previous books that the author didn't have a good grasp of fiber arts. It was a good mystery. I enjoy the sense of community that serves as the backdrop for the series. I'll for sure buy the next one.

Sally does it again! What a wonderful group!

I love the friendship that abounds in Sally's books. I wish there was a yarn store like this near me :)

Loved listening to the book

I read this while sewing better than watching tv. The story held my interest and was a relaxing background for the hum of the machine.

Another winner

Sally Goldenbaum has crafted another excellent story in her Seaside Knitters series. She keeps the originality of earlier books while letting the reader learn more about the characters. Julie McKay gives a wonderful performance as she brings it all to life.

Awful. Give it a pass

Dismal entry in an otherwise delightful series. Only recognizable because of the character names. The usually rich characters were one dimensional, shallow and boring. The plot was nearly nonexistent and way too convoluted to hold interes

Boring and slow

The narrator talked so slowly and the story moved so slowly with all the fluff, I finally had to change the narration speed to 1.25 just to be sure I was right about the murderer (halfway through). The story also assumes that the reader has read other books in the series and just pops in random characters like we should know who they are.

One word: boring

What would have made Murder Wears Mittens better?

The plot is so slow, nothing ever happens and the characters are just tiring. I've listened more than half of the book and at this point I don't care at all whether the suspect is guilty or not. Moreover, I wish it is! They're all so uninteresting, that I only listen to this when I'm bored to dead and there's nothing else to do.

Slow to start

I didn't like the narrator. Story had too much descriptive narrative that was unnecessary and detracted from the story.
