As the Club Destiny series heats up, New York Times best-selling author Nicole Edwards delivers a steamy, erotic tale of lust and seduction.
Ashleigh Thomas might have made the biggest mistake of her life. Uprooting life as she knew it, moving back to Dallas to be closer to her family, she finds herself much closer to the one man to whom she had never been able to say no. Attempting to hide the fact that she moonlights as an erotic romance author, she quickly finds herself in his arms and his bed, hoping he'll fulfill some of those deep, dark desires she has always written about but never experienced for herself.
Alex McDermott has spent the better part of a decade trying to convince himself to stay away from the alluring Ashleigh, but when she moves back home, he finds he's no longer willing to resist the overwhelming desire she inspires in him. But he's got a secret, too - one that might just push Ashleigh out of his life for good. And that's something he's not willing to let happen. It doesn't take long for the heat between them to ignite into a wildfire of lust, but can they stop hiding from each other and, more importantly, stop holding back?
Very sexy. Lots of hot scenes. Actually deserved the hot rating. The upgrade of narrators was a big big improvement. I could listen to the male narrator again yum.
This series is always good. However, the female performance was not up to the standards of the other books. I noted a distinct speech distinction, almost an impediment, after the third chapter and found myself struggling to get past it for the remainder of the book.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I like sexy books, but when I start pushing forward to try to find some story because I'm bored by too much sex and too little plot, it's not good.
What didn’t you like about Ava Erickson and Patrick Leigh ’s performance?
I was not happy with Ava Erickson's performance. Patrick Leigh's was find.
Could you see Seduction being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I have enjoyed all so far. I want books four to six as soon as I can get them. It hard to wait for the book.
What a saucy book! I haven't been able to put the series down...on to the next book! My husband can't believe what this book has done to me :)
I was disappointed with Seduction, although I believe Nicole Edwards is an incredibly gifted writer. I just didn't connect with either Ashleigh (28 year old virgin) and Alex (40 year old controlling playboy). They didn't do anything interesting, unless you count performing public sex acts.
Ashleigh was supposed to be an erotic romance writer, despite having no experience, who always fantasized about being dominated by an alpha male. Well, what exactly was she waiting for? She had known Alex for 10 years, so it made no sense.
Alex claimed to have fallen in love with Ashleigh when she was 18, but believed she was too young for him. However, that doesn't stop Alex from having sex with hundreds of women and being active in a sex club. What a guy!
I found the sex scenes particularly monotonous: Alex "ordered", Alex "instructed", Alex "wanted", Alex "needed". It was almost like Alex was having sex with a blow-up doll, not a human being. Ashleigh became an instant sex fiend, which was weird since she managed to wait so long to be sexually active.
The only good thing I can say is that Alex wasn't violent - at least not before I gave up listening. Alex was bossy and self-absorbed but hopefully not a sadist. Ashleigh was just boring and wimpy, without an original thought or sense of humor. Big yawn!
