This pot of gold could hold more than they bargained for...
Grand. Just grand. Clara Donovan's failure to keep her brother from going off the rails - again - is a public spectacle. Including a handsome stranger who puts down his guitar case to help her talk Seamus down from Farthing's tallest bridge.
Everything about Danny Brady reminds Clara how many times she swore she'll never again be that pathetic, weak woman who got taken in by a good-looking man. Especially when, the next day, she walks into a new coffee shop in her little Irish town and discovers Danny's secret.
Danny didn't lie - technically - about his coffee shop chain. He's just tired of women going after him for his wealth. Clara is a graceful, fiercely loyal, non-Irish Irish damsel in distress, a combination that tugs at his heart. A heart that's spent its share of time in pieces.
Danny has never hesitated to go after what he wants, but melting Clara's defenses will take more than hot tea and charm. He'll have to prove he's made of stronger stuff - even when her past threatens to tear her carefully reconstructed world to shreds.
I think this is my most favorite story. It is incredible! I absolutely loved listening to the narrator of this Audiobook. She did an amazing job telling the story these wonderful characters.
A sisters love can be blind but sooner or later she will realize that the best way to help a troubled brother is by first admitting he has a problem and then getting him help.
At what cost to her love for Danny will her blindness to her brother's addiction end up costing her. Will Danny give up and stay away as Clara tells him or will he keep trying to reach out to her?
You must get this incredible audiobook or the ebook so that you can read it or listen to it yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed. I will warn you I cried in several places in the story.
This is a story I want to listen to again! The author is to be commended for her writing of this story!
This was a sweet story about Clara, who wears her heart on her sleeve and is devoted to her family. Danny is making his mark on the world one coffee shop at a time. He, too, has to rise above his childhood. I love how this couple interacts with one another. Their romance is sweet and real. The author did an excellent job of writing deep characters. The narrator did a wonderful job of the accents in the book. My only issue with the audible book was the tinny sound of the narrator. It sounded like she was in a can and it distracted from the story. Once I was able to get over the sound quality, it was a great story.
Excellent story told about a sister's love and her brother's addiction as well as the toll it takes on her life. Charming, well written words that bring this story to life as no one else can. Excellent narration. I couldnt put it down...
Clara is a strong character, but almost to the point where she lets her pride get in the way of her own potential and happiness. Even with her terrible experience with her ex, she allows her brother to treat her just as horrible. Danny is from humble beginnings but almost jaded from his journey to success. He is sweet and very willing to tell it like it is. There was an echo in the audio version.
Very well done story of how addiction affects relationships and lives. I wanted to shake Clara for helping her alcoholic brother again and again. So much so that she risked health and a relationship with Danny but this story is so true and it happens so much. A beautiful story of Love and things that should be the most important to us. I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily giving a review.
