Sintesi dell'editore

From New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee comes the sixth novel in the warm and witty Not Quite series.

No one drives in New York City. Everyone knows that, including California transplant Rachel Price. But that doesn't stop her from driving into the city. From Connecticut. Every single morning. Rain or shine...or snow.

When she runs the charismatic and good-looking Jason Fairchild off the road, their immediate spark is met with bad timing. There is also one tiny little detail: Jason is her boss. And a woman as intelligent and dedicated to her career as Rachel knows not to date her boss.

As CEO of a private jet company, Jason Fairchild is more used to flying than driving. But if he hadn't chosen to drive home one night, he wouldn't have met the slowest - and most irresistible - driver in the entire metro area. Jason has never had time for love. Or dating. Or really anything that doesn't involve work. But when he finds out that Rachel is the newest superstar in his marketing department, he can't help wondering if fate has other plans...

Very enjoyable read and listen.

I really liked this book. It had strong characters and a good story line and plot. I liked Rachel a lot, she was strong and smart female lead character, not whiny and wimpy. I really liked the relationship she had with Owen. I also liked Owen and was glad he wasn't a smart aleck bratty teenager.

The story line and plot was good. The one thing that did bug me was the custody hearing attorney. Seriously, Jason Fairchild owned an airplane company is filthy rich and could have retained the appropriate family law attorney, but instead used his corporate attorney who had no family law experience. Anyway, this is fiction so I dealt with it.

The romance story was good, the chemistry was good and there was a lot of dialogue throughout the entire book. There was one nicely written sex scene. The end did get a tiny bit cheesy, but all in all it was one of the better contemporary romance books written these days.

Most contemporary romance books these days are sex and sex and sex and a little story that contains the male lead character being super arrogant but not good enough for the girl because of some stupid deep rooted past experience nonsense. And the dialogue is usually really stupid. So I am very glad that Catherine Bybee does NOT write like that. Thank you Catherine Bybee.

As for the narration, I like Amy McFadden she does a great job and I like her reading voice. the men sound like men and she reads with emotion.

Good Story -Ending not the Greatest

Overall, this was a nice story. Amy McFadden always does a great job with the various characters. There wasn't the usual weak female lead so that's a plus! There were still the typical romance checklist items though- that electricity, few sex scenes, problem to solve, Fall in love after a month...
The one thing that I was a bit surprised at was the very ending dialogue. It just seemed kind of weak. Something about their crazy love and then blam - that was the end. Maybe there was a time crunch or something....

Another great addition to this series

Would you consider the audio edition of Not Quite Crazy to be better than the print version?

Yep, already did

What other book might you compare Not Quite Crazy to and why?

Pretty much every other book in this series. The series characters are all linked which makes it a bit easier to follow if you start at book one, but it's not necessary. The overlapping of characters is what makes this series so unique. Each one stands on it's own with it's own merit and makes the next one worth the read.

Have you listened to any of Amy McFadden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. They are all really well done and the narrator is perfect. There were no technical issues with this one.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Two strangers brought together by fate

Any additional comments?

This is such a unique story line. There are some twists in the story that you will not see coming. The nice thing about this is the strength built between the two characters where the difficulties they face are from external supporting characters. It makes the outcome so much more than a basic ending. You will fall in love with these two and fight the urge not to slap some of the moments that will drive you crazy. I literally started talking out loud from frustration at certain points (e.g.: "you've got to be kidding me!", "are you serious...seriously!", etc.), which supports the true essence of this book.

Loved this one too.

Another great and emotional book by Catherine Bybee. Amy McFadden did a wonderful job narrating throughout the entire series. I wished I had reread the series again since it’s been about 16 months since reading the previous book. I definitely recommend this book and series.

A wonderful romance and mystery

I loved this book! The romance was wonderful. But it was fun trying to figure out who was after her. At times she was braver than I would have been. But definitely wouldn't have let her new friend follow her home

Good Story

Loved the story. Could have done without the sex as it did not add anything worthy to the book.

quite excellent

I love the whole ‘Not Quite’ series but one made me laugh at loud at times. The chemistry between Rachel and Jason is playful and intense and Owen is hysterical and adds such a different tone than the other books in this series. Hope it continues - Nathan would be great. Love a Scottish accent. Who Amy McFadden is as wonderful as always!
