For the past year, talented chef Millie has been consumed with running her new catering business with her sisters, Dru and Tasha. It isn't until Jackson walks through their door that she realizes something may be missing in the recipe of her life.
For the past year, Jackson has been dealing with the fallout of his wife's abandonment. He's had to learn how to be a single father to their eight-year-old daughter, and will do anything to fill the void her mother left. It isn't until he commissions Millie for his daughter's birthday party that he realizes he's forgotten that he's not only a father, but a man.
They both think they're content in their lives, but sometimes the right amount of spice can turn an okay dish into a magnificent one. A Pinch of Salt may be all that's needed to bring Millie and Jackson the flavor they've been missing.
I totally loved this journey for Millie and Jackson. Ms. Lopez does an excellent job of creating the close-knit bond of Millie and her sisters. Thinking that her life is the catering business that she runs with her sister, Millie is thrown by her attraction to single dad, Jackson. Their chemistry is immediate but their relationship is not without detours on the way to their HEA.
Jackson contends with his wife's abandonment and the effects it has on his young daughter, Kayla. Ms. Lopez hits all the requirements for a satisfying story: couple chemistry, a bit of angst, humor, sexy banter, and love—both romantic and familial. I love that she gives a glimpse of what is to come for the three sisters and I cannot wait to read Tasha and Dru's stories

This was a sweet read. Millie and her sisters are running a successful business. She's not looking for love and she and Jackson run into each other. Jackson hasn't gotten over his wife's leaving, so he's certainly not looking for someone new when he meets Millie. She's a breath of fresh air in his stale world. The relationships are realistic and the emotions are real. There were a few times when I thought, HURRY UP ALREADY! but I enjoyed this listen!
Millie is a caterer and she and her two twin sisters started Three Sister’s Catering. She is manning the shop alone one day when an attractive man comes in looking to arrange a tea party for his daughter’s birthday so even though it is not normally something they would do she agrees.
Jackson is a high school teacher and single father to his nine year old daughter Kayla since his wife left over a year ago. He is trying to make this birthday special for his daughter but he is so out of his element in arranging a tea party. When he meets Millie he is interested in much more than a tea party.
This is a wonderful story about family and love and the complications that come with them. All the characters are well developed including Kayla and Millie’s two sisters. This is the first book I have read by this author and I look forward to reading Tasha’s story. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of the audio book from the author.
I really like this story. The literature teacher & the baker were a great fit. I especially loved the fact that Jackson was such a loving father & that Milly wanted Kay to have the time she needed. Listening to this was a treat, although the narrator could have used a little more definition for some of the characters as sometimes they ran a little together.
