She takes listeners to I-80 in Wyoming, where a runaway teen named Harper finds herself, her little sister, her ex-boyfriend, and her two best friends desperately trying to elude Bucketmouth, a killer who eats his prey’s body parts and then assumes their physical likeness. A trucker’s daughter, Harper is a classic Jones badass Indian girl, and LaBlanc, who is a citizen of Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota Nation and who has won Earphones Awards for the Blackfeet author’s earlier work, ably embodies her while deftly navigating the lingo of the long haul. Wall to wall and tree top tall, good buddy."
