Sintesi dell'editore

Newton was a natural philosopher (the word "scientist" had not yet been coined) who described a planetary system held together by gravitational forces. His "Principia" changed science forever; gravity not only explained the orbits of stars, it explained common earthly events as well. Newton established a way of thinking that still shapes our everyday understanding of how the world works.

The Science and Discovery series recreates one of history's most successful journeys: 4,000 years of scientific efforts to better understand and control the physical world. Science has often challenged and upset conventional wisdom or accepted practices; this is a story of vested interests and independent thinkers, experiments and theories, change and progress.

why different accents?
the change was weird, made the book feel unnecessarily funny.
Unnecessary use of accents.

please no

The narration is annoying as hell. When they quote Copernicus, they do it in a fake Polish accent, because he was from Poland. It's such a stupid idea. I fully expect they'll quote Julius Caesar in a fake Italian cartoon accent next time.

really informative

it's more historical life of Newton and what brings him to different stages of scientific discoveries however it does go into things like gravity and inertia
