Sintesi dell'editore

An all-time best seller, this timeless classic, written at the turn of the century, has blessed millions of people who have asked the vital question, "What does it really mean to be a Christian?" As a young minister, and before becoming editor of the Christian Herald, Sheldon disguised himself as an unemployed printer and tramped the city streets with others in that same plight. He was shocked by the indifference of the Christian community. From that experience he wrote this novel.

Awesome book that really makes you think!

This is a truly remarkable book that makes you stop and think what a Christian ought to be. The narrator is the best I have heard. He does so many different voices and was a great pleasure to listen to.

A Very Good Listen ...

Didn't realize this book was written in 1896. Solid story and certainly relevant today. I am glad I listened to this.

A Christ like servant for all generations

To be a disciple takes love, understanding, and commitment. A wonderful encouraging word to think and do as Jesus. Learn how individuals selflessly gave of themselves by obeying Gods word and watched our Lord bring many people to Himself!! If you want to change your Community, this is a must read!!

Redundant and sappy

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The language might have been appropriate when the book was written, but reminds me too much of a Disney movie from the 60s with it's sappy story and message.

What was most disappointing about Charles Sheldon’s story?

Found it too hard to keep interest with the redundancy of the message over and over.

Do you think In His Steps needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes, one that uses more realisitc and current interactions between the characters.

food for thought

the book takes you on a journey of one church's struggle to live out 'What Would Jesus Do?' While there are several tidbits that wouldn't match up today since the book was written in the height of the temperance movement, it still provokes some good wholesome thought on how we live the gospel.
