Not a bad start

The story was okay. I felt the characterizations of Mulder and Scully were mostly on-point, with a few off moments, but nothing particularly jarring. It read like a typical filler episode of The X-Files, nothing special, but enough to hold my interest. No major complaints about narration, it was a decent enough job. As is typical with books about TV shows, you'll have to use your imagination to believe it's Mulder and Scully speaking.

About average

The premise of the book starts out like an x-file but quickly loses the "x-file" feel. Mixed with worthless extra characters and a few missteps in the characterization of Mulder and Scully only gives the book an "okay" rating. The performance wasn't terrible but nothing to write home about either.

Goblins

It's an X-Files book. I'm pre-disposed to love it. I read it before, many years ago, and enjoyed both reads. Typical storyline...recognizable characters...fun exploits.

boring to listen to.

pretty good, as far as x-files go, decent voice work and good enough to keep you listening.

Full cast would have helped!

Love the x-files, read this back in the day. The book is an over-described, average story. If it were acted out by a full cast of the original actors, it would be fair. Narrated, it is hard to get through.

Government Experiment Gone Awry

This is a familiar tale for fans of X-Files as Scully and Mulder are off to New Jersey to investigate a murder. What makes it an X Files is a local resident insisting it is the work of a goblin. Through their work, our duo finds a military tie in that ultimately is at the heart of it all. This is an okay X Files entry which I found overlong at six plus hours. It would have been much better condensed and part of the anthology X Files series which showcases multiple authors works in a novella format. I have listened to two of three in that series on X Files and found them much more entertaining. As far as the narration, I found nothing to complain about Mr. Lawlor, it was the story itself that dragged on and on.

Good read

This was a solid read! It felt more or less like an episode of TXF. The characterization was pretty good and I found the storyline engaging. The narrator was perfectly serviceable. I felt like he over-enunciated everything, but his voices were decent and his expression was good. (To my ear he also reads quite slowly, but that was easy to fix by bumping up the speed a little.) Overall I feel positively; the book didn't blow me away, but I enjoyed it and felt like it was worth the time it took to listen.

Authentic X-Files

I througly enjoyed this. It captured the feel of the TV series very well. And the story maintened my interest. The author obviously watched the series and described the mannerisms and personalities of characters well. The narrator was OK. The performance was more of a reading than... Well.. A performance. But it suited the understated personality of the characters.

Thought the characters were a little inconsistent.

The story was great, much like the X-Files we know and love but I thought the portrayal of Moulder and Scully were a but out of character in some parts.
