One woman. Three men. All Dragons. What could go wrong?

Maya Rose has a problem. She's the last in her line of dragon shifters, and if she doesn't produce an heir soon, it could be disastrous for her kingdom. In order to remedy this, her father, the king, has gathered the greatest heroes from across the lands, and set them on a quest to not only save the kingdom, but to win Maya's love.

Should they succeed, they will become her husband and rule by her side. Should they fail to win her love, death is the only answer. But with so many dashing men willing to do anything to win her hand, how is a girl to choose? Then again, no one ever said she had to pick just one. After all, the fate of the realm is at stake, and maybe this time, more is merrier.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a love triangle, what you'll find inside is a reverse harem featuring hot sex, adult themes, dragons, cool weapons, action, adventure, a wise-cracking heroine, and much, much more.

Weak Heroine and World Building

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

My headline makes it sound all bad but it wasn’t. I was entertained. I was left hanging with questions that just might prompt me to purchase the second book. My headline refers to the total lack of any scenery. I don’t know where or how she lived on Earth. A messy condo or secondhand shopper or manicured? Who was she other than a game coder? The same goes for her dimensional jump back to dragon home. Were the trees green? Were there vehicles like Earth? She traveled in a coach, but what does that mean? Did the shifters stay in human form for their daily routines or did the landscape host flying dragons too? Oh, and what was the landscape like? Were other dimensions accessible that held Vampires or Demons, or others?

Like I said, Maya lacked identity anther was a complete lack of world building. But it was a good start. I can see the series gaining strength if the authors will enrich the imagined visual. I need to see it more in my head.

The narration, on the other hand, was great. I’ve said it before, Melissa Moran does a fabulous job with both male and female narration roles. She’s always spot on.I’m positive that her great narration was a big part of my enjoyment. If the author chooses not to employ dual narrators in her sequels, I hope she continues with Melissa.

Unique PNR~

I love PNR! This was not only a very unique story but sexy to book. I am very intrigued by the world that is being depicted. The character development is great. I can't wait to read more on this sexy Harem.

Narration: I thought narration was fabulous. This was not my first Melissa narration. It was just as good as I have encountered before. Love it!

Dragons, Sexy Men, Powers... Love every second of it!

I can't move past the robotic narration

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I couldn't finish the book. The story was OK but the narration was awful. It was so wooden and robotic, I felt like I was listening to an automated phone system reading me this book.

Wow Great Paranormal Dragon Series!

Unique story with one female dragon and three male dragon suitors! All of them are trying to help her conceive. Maya had been exiled to our human dimension for about 5 years but her father needs her to continue their dragon shifter line. She returns to her land and the adventure begins.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

There is humor, suspense, intrigue, romance, and adventure. I enjoyed the great storyline and the fun unique characters. The story continues on the next book in this fun series so there is a bit of a cliffhanger.

The story sucked me in and kept me engaged all the way to the conclusion. It is told in Maya’s POV. I’m so looking forward to the next book! Unexpected twist at the end!

Awful

I expected some cohesive plot and character development... wrong! About the time things started progressing, the book just ended abruptly.

Definitely has potential.

This story line has potential to been great. I felt like it was rushed a lot. It would have worked much better with a slower burn love story. Also I had a hard time picturing the characters and the worth that was introduced. I need details to visualize. And what kind of dragons were they? They only had the wings?

Disappointing

The cadence of the narrator’s voice is robotic at times and eventually got on my nerves. That paired with the heroine still being a weak damsel in distress by Chapter 21 (out of 24) who has no self-control around men at all and is a dragon that can nearly fight or defend herself? Um, not my thing. On a good note the narrator was slightly better than the overall story.

Additionally, I’m not a fan of a lot of descriptive language or prose because to me it can be overkill. But this novel as a Fantasy genre is very lacking in describing the difference between her Realm and Earth. It’s almost as if the authors couldn’t see it themselves to write about it.

Another thing is some details just don’t make sense. One of her suitors is an old lover she slept with 5 years prior. WHY would sleeping with her now increase his powers when it didn’t before? This isn’t explained. At least not by Chapter 21 which was as far as I could get. There were other minor aspects that didn’t flow well just like this example—Almost like the authors would take a break and forget about something they wrote before.

And lastly, in full disclosure I love steamy scenes in my novels but the female protagonist comes across as some young girl that will sleep with nearly any man in her Realm that will touch her or stir her inner dragon. After reading a novel like Dragon Bound which has a great dragon hero portrayal, this novel falls soooo short. There’s no shapeshifting either. All they have are wings and growls. I couldn’t finish it. It just got to be silly and annoying to me. I wish that weren’t the case but I’m done with this novel and have no interest in seeing how it ends.

Not a Bad Read

While I enjoyed this book. It flowed easy, had a unique story line and lots of romantic sex. It however, was a little short; lacking good world building. Also, a little more character building would have made this good 4 Star an awesome 5 Star. Star crossed just seemed to lack that deep emotional connection with its characters that makes you laugh and cry along your reading journey. I still recommend this series to those who love a good romantic paranormal story. Hopefully this author will only get better with time.

Great start - Want More

In this book we meet Maya possibly the last fertile dragon of her royal line who has been banished to Earth by her father the king, we never know why, just that the king appears to be a total a...hole. When her sister proves to be barren she is summoned back to produce an heir.

Whilst on Earth Maya has proved herself capable ot making her way, and has no real desire to to back to her home world Waesigar but once she is there she is introduced to the two dragons, from which she must choose one to become her mate. Both these dragons are strong but they are so very different. You have an Ice Dragon who at first comes across as quiet and reserved there is also a flashy Lightning Dragon. Maya and her two hopeful mates are sent on a mission to try and make a treaty with another dragon lord, who happens to be the father of her first ‘love’.

As the story progresses you get to know more about Maya and her guys. You also get to meet her Fire Dragon. So here is Maya with an Ice, Fire and Lightning dragon vying for her hand - but she doesn’t want to choose so a deal is struck and the four band together to try and produce an heir and secure peace in Waesigar.

The book being the first of a series ends rather abruptly and I now need to listen to the next book in this series. The writing style is excellent as is the narration. The action and intrigue in the story are good and the chemistry between the four is very good.

Starcrossed Dragons Book One

Starcrossed Dragons Book One.

When Maya Rose is summoned home by the father who banished her to the human realm, she cannot believe he actually wants her back. Then she finds out why - her sister, the heir, is barren. Now Maya is responsible for bearing a new heir to continue her family's bloodline. Her father has two men lined up to compete for her body and to help her secure a truce with a rival kingdom. When the king sets her on another quest to tame her former lover, the king's son, Maya has to choose between the two men she has made a commitment to and the man she loved before her banishment.

If you're looking for a story of dragons, quests and the ultimate test of the heart, this is the book for you.
