Sintesi dell'editore

A riveting psychological thriller inspired by the infamous, real-life serial killer Ted Bundy, in which an FBI criminal profiler faces off against a twisted and charismatic UNSUB.

When five Texas women disappear without trace, each on Saturday nights, the local authorities call in the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit. The newest member of this elite group of criminal profilers, Caitlin Hendrix, is all too familiar with hunting society's most depraved and twisted criminals. She suspects that the women were taken by a highly confident killer who convinces victims to lower their guard so he can gain power over them. But there's no evidence that any of the victims are dead - until a dog drags home a bloody strip of fabric torn from a white baby doll nightgown.

Caitlin and the team find the victim's body deep in the woods, laid out in a white nightie, which she was dressed in after death. Then they find a second victim, also dressed in a white nightgown. Her body is surrounded by Polaroid photos, stuck in the ground like headstones. Each one pictures a woman - some alive and terrified, some dead. A devastating serial killer is at work, and Hendrix will stop at nothing to catch him before his victims pay the ultimate price.

Huh?

I can’t believe this is the same person who wrote the “China Lake” series. Those books were so good. This is terrible. I gave it two stars, because the first half wasn’t too bad, and held my attention enough to keep trying. But, boy did it go downhill fast! By the end, it had just gotten stupid.

Unparalleled Storytelling

Thank God I didn't have good as a book or else I would have stayed up all night reading just to see how it ended. I cried, I got anxiety, I clenched my fists and almost shouted. Exciting, terrifying, and masterful. Gardiner is a powerhouse and Huber's narration brings it all home.

OMG!!!!

Wow! That's all I can say. Meg Gardiner somehow topped UNSUB with Into the Black Nowhere. This story just doesn't stop. The plot continues to plow through. This book is an emotional roller-coaster. It will make you frightened, uncomfortable in your own skin, laugh, cry, and everything in between. This is a cover-to-cover nonstop adrenaline rush. I was so incredibly impressed with this book, that I ordered some of Gardiner's older books last night. I flew through this book in less than 24 hours. The only thing I didn't like was that the book had to end. Don't wait another minute, and order this fantastic thriller by Meg Gardiner.

The narration is ideal for the character as well. Great, great job!
