Another great book in this series. This was even better than the first book. I liked the way David and Sabrina made a great team looking for the murderer. It all started with Shannon talking Sabrina into going to see a psychic named Miss Terry. She told her Jessica would be found but she did not know if she was alive or dead or where. After Sabrina leaves and goes home she feels she needs to speak to Miss Terry again and try to see if she has more info about her sister even though she had said she did not. So she goes in the night to see her and Terry dead. Now she looks like a suspect. So now her and David work together to find the killer. I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review.

I thought overall it was good. Narrator was good and voice portrayed emotion along with not being monotone. The plot was interesting and kept me listening.
On the flip side, the detective of the story is kind of a jerk. He isn’t nice to anyone except his girlfriend. He accuses every suspect of murder and tells them they need to prove their innocence. That’s not really the way it works.
Other than that, for me it was a good story.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. The narrator did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end. If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.
A great cozy mystery series!! I am looking forward to the next in the series. Lisa Beacom does a great job with the narration. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher and/or author and/or narrator in exchange for an honest review.
First, I'd like to say that I'm sure the story itself was good. Sabrina and her friend go to see a psychic and both get news that is disturbing to them. I really hoped it would do more with that mystery. It seemed a great set up, what happened to Sabrina's sister? That's not what the story was about. Perhaps Ms. Potts was setting up future stories. I was completely annoyed by the very complete descriptions of each and every character brought into the book. And there were a lot! It was monotonous. Sabrina, was annoying to me, so I didn't have anyone to root for in this story. It's a cozy mystery, but even so, the fact that she was actually brought in on the investigation was more than suspending disbelief! Her boyfriend, the detective, took her on all interviews and told her everything that was going on in the investigation. She decided she was the only one that could solve the case. I didn't enjoy the narration, the male voices were in the narrators lower register and flat. The females sounded like they were about to cry and all sounded the same. Ms. Potts put a lot of work into her book, I'm sorry I didn't enjoy it. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I really liked the storyline. It was quirky. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and had a hard time following it. I think I would have been better reading it. The narrator was fine. I could tell the different characters by the tone of her voice.

Maybe I missed something not reading book one but I don't know how this coffeehouse owner was able to play detective while her detective boyfriend practically lets her take over his investigation. Also, they both came off as pushy and somewhat hostile while trying to get information from suspects. In addition to that, there were too many repeated phrases in here, such as "wrinkling her forehead", "scrunched his nose" or "widening his eyes". There were so many of these types of phrases they became distracting. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
CARAMELS WITH A SIDE OF MURDER is the second book in the Daley Buzz Cozy Mysteries. They do need to be read in the order of release.
Even better than the first book. The new narrator was a great improvement, too. Ms. Beacom has a very nice voice and does the characters well. She has “theater of the mind” down pat!
I enjoyed the story of the psychic who couldn’t see her own death in the cards. I guess you can’t read your own? The side story of Sabrina’s friend, Shannon, trying to decide between her two guys and the tizzy Miss Terri’s prediction is leaving her in is another source of giggles for me. I could just imagine how the poor girl is second guessing herself. How was this psychic doing so well for herself and why hadn’t anyone killed her in frustration sooner!?
As a cozy mystery, Ms. Potts did a great job! She kept me guessing and entertained. I truly loved it and hope to read/listen to more of this series as they come available.

So with this book I was hoping to get more on the subplots from the last book. Unfortunately we don’t see much about the mansion or missing sister 😦 I was really hoping to uncover more on that side than was in this story. I get that the author wants to tease it out, but I feel like it’s being watered down for the mystery of this story. Again Sabrina really surprises me with her forcefulness. She apologizes to people, but then turns around and starts accusing again with this new murder. You should and can have suspicions, but they should be founded and you shouldn’t be shouting them in public, because what if you’re right? Then the murderer will get you too! Her boyfriend makes less sense as he is a police officer and shouldn’t be doing some of the things that Sabrina is having him do with her in terms of investigations. So for me the story is about a 3.5/5 stars. I see potential, especially with this new subplot of men having secret meetings lol. Please give us more though in the next book!
So the narrator changed for this second book. She doesn’t have too much of a different voice, so I didn’t exactly notice it at first, until I really stared at the cover of my audiobook when I was listening, then I saw. I feel like she did a better job than the last narrator. And actually was going to praise the narrator for improving haha, but since this is a new person I won’t be doing that. Beacom does well with characters and I could tell who was talking even with the same gender! I really liked the way she read the story, it felt more relaxed. I give the narration a 4.5/5.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Meredith Potts. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
This is a gently paced cosy mystery. The death of a psychic leads to lots of suspects for Sabrina to investigate. It was quite a good mystery as I had no idea who the killer was until it was revealed near the end.
I like that there is a secondary mystery running through this series i.e. the disappearance of Sabrina's sister. This aspect has me completely hooked and I can't wait to read more to find out what happened to her.
I would like a little bit of romance in Sabrina's life. She does have a boyfriend but his character isn't developed and their relationship is not a source of drama or a plot point. He's kind of like a human equivalent of Google. She just asks him questions about the case and he answers her. I would like to see more happening between the pair.
This was a good book to read on a quiet day to myself and I enjoyed listening to the narration.
