If someone you loved was the victim of a violent crime, how far would you go to find justice?
Jack Devlin didn't know the answer, until his brother was left comatose after a brutal assault. To the police, it was just another New York mugging. But to Jack Devlin, it was an abomination that must be avenged - outside the law.
"Packs a savage punch." (The New York Times)

This book was titilating! The story was like a new age sexy noir novel! In line with that and what really kept it together was the narration. The characters were easy to distinguish and led to great imagery of what they might look like. I was hooked from the beginning to end. Had to take it from my car into the house to keep listening. A great one to have in my library. Thank you!!!

This is a really good vigilante justice story. It was well written and narrated and extremely entertaining. If you like dark, action packed stories like this, you must check this one out! You won't be disappointed.
This book is over 20 years old, but don't let that turn you away. It is a solid thriller. The book moves smartly and is a perfect pairing with a narrator who nails the vibe.
The storyline is not deep, it is basically an escalating revenge fantasy, but the characters and narration make it worth while. Definitely recommend.

Cell phones will be the bane of authors who have written before 2000. No one looks for a phone booth or scrounges for change to make a call any more. That being said, Jack Devlin is one butt kicking son of a gun in any time period. This book kept me riveted to the ear phones from start to finish. This is one of the best books that it has been my privilege to read in a long time. It is full of action and adventure, crooked cops and great car chases. To me it is like an updated Mike Hammer novel, I absolutely love it. I highly recommend this book and I will definitely be reading it again. I received this book at no cost to me by the author, publisher, or narrator. I'll opinions are my own.
We are presented with a gritty, dark, and sensual action novel. Our man of vengeance Jack Devlin takes on corruption, criminals, and dirty cops to wage war on those who almost killed his brother at an after-hours club. Once Devlin gets going the action is relentless. The writing is excellent, the story completely plausible, and the carnage unstoppable. I highly recommend this title and will gladly look for more from John Clarkson. This is a gripping, sexy, action-packed thriller with an interesting and varied cast of characters. And Alan Philip Ormond's outstanding performance voices these characters perfectly. His narration truly enhances the story.
Some of the action seems a bit contrived, but that's to be expected with this kind of story. It's all believable enough and it has a quite satisfactory ending.

This listen got so many things right that it's really hard to keep this review succinct. Everything about my experience in this world was excellent.
Good guys. Excellent.
Bad guys. Excellent.
I could not wait to keep listening!!!
The main character, Jack Devlin, was easily one of my favorites. We're taking alpha male to the nth degree! He was equal parts swoon-worthy and ruthless. (Yes, please.)
In Jack's quest to avenge his brothers beating, the bad guys had to fall. I love how the story unfolded and the narrator absolutely nailed the intensity. Nailed. It.
I can't tell if there is another book in the series but my gosh, I sincerely hope so!
And Justice for One. Tough guy investigator Devlin loses his brother during a night of heavy drinking after their father's wake. When his brother doesn't turn up the next day, Devlin begins to bring down his own brand of violent justice on anyone who was involved in whatever happened to his brother.
