I personally loved it.
A lot of reviewers didn’t like the reader. Personally I thought he did great. He doesn’t have the same amount of sarcasm some of the lines had in the movie. That doesn’t bother me, because it’s still funny. My favorite part is it gives you more back story on the guys. There is more ghost encounters, and some we know from the movies are different in appearance. If you love the ghostbusters give it a chance.

A Fun Trip Down Memory Lane
I grew up watching and loving Ghostbusters. I watched both movies countless times, enamored by the spectacle of both feature films — replete with stunning visuals, quirky humor, and panache. This led to me also watching the animated cartoon and playing the Ghostbusters video games on my Nintendo Entertainment System, which were, admittedly, horrible and insanely difficult, but when you’re a kid you don’t know any better and appreciate things for what they are, not what they aren’t.
When I saw that Audible had a novelization of the first two films as part of one audiobook collection, I knew I had to give it a go. Back when these movies came out, novelizations of films was a regular occurance. I’ve always enjoyed novelizations, whether they be of movies or video games, because they provide fans with a more detailed account of the stories we love.
Johnny Heller narrates both of these books, and he does so masterfully. I especially like his portrayal of Rick Mornis’ character because I think he nails his voice perfectly. Even when he’s not trying to do a specific voice, the narrator’s sound is unique and powerful, creating a pleasing listening experience.
At nearly eight hours in length, this audiobook is long enough to be satisfying but not so long that it intimidates. As with the movies, the first one is better than the second. However, both have plenty of good times to offer. These stories are essentially an audio form of the films, but with additional details that help paint a more vivid picture. I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting Ghostbusters I & II through this excellent Audible audiobook.

Whiny sounding
Great books, bad narration. Voices are horrible and don't reflect on the characters at all.

Love the story
Love the story but it’s read entirely to fast at times it sounds like the fine print on a commercial being read

A must have for any Ghostbusters fan.
I really enjoyed listening to both novelization of the movies. there's little back stories and alternative scenes throughout. The narrator does a good job but he does lack slightly on the dramatics of the story.
highly recommended.

A terrible version
Mostly a conversion of the movie. Some modernization in 2020 made it worse. Heller rushed the narration and moments of humor slipt away fast.

The better side of 'Meh'
its a novel baised off the movies... it doesn't quite vibe the same. It strikes me as a story that has a lot of potential, but deflates and even becomes a bit cartoonish at times.
That being said, it had some moments of sparkling creativity, narritively and discriptively, that i enjoyed... but wasn't able to quite fully enjoy because of the narrorator... it was awful. He rushed. He gave no time to let key points sink in or hit with weight. It felt at times like a parent rushing through a bedtime story just so he could go off and do something else. The story was moderate, the narrator made it blah.

Terrible narration and performance - keep away
The narration by Johnny Heller was terrible. Flat, without any emotion, as if he was just reading aloud a story that bores him to death… I had such great expectations about this audible but it didn’t deliver

i Aint afraid to talk a little slower
Now the novelization of the both Ghostbusters 1&2 is really good but as in all audiobooks it's in the reader and this reader is just too damn fast, and yes you can slow it down to x.75 but it's still not as good and throws it off somehow. Some of the sarcasm is lost and very low level cuss words are missing. Just wish it was read by someone whom was reading and performing as well and not by someone who seems to be late for his dinner and wanting to go home.

Fleshes out the movies even more!
I do love a novelisation and this one is very good. The narrator does a good job although he is very fast. Thank god you can reduce the speed on the app. I’d recommend 0.8/0.9 setting for better enjoyment!

Classic stories, poor performance
The stories themselves are great, though a little different to what one might remember from the movies as they were based on early drafts of the scripts.
The performance, however, is not so great. Johnny Heller rattles through them as though he were in a hurry to beat the traffic, which really detracts from the experience.

what's the Rush
If I was new to Ghostbusters after listening to this would have no compulsion to watch the films. He was so quick talking (no enjoyment from the voice)

Narrator speaks too fast.
Great classic books but make sure you slow down the speed of the narrator it makes it much more enjoyable!

Narration is terrible
Ok I love the movie and thought it would be fun to listen to the audiobook, but the narrator is just terrible. Felt like he was just speed reading through it as fast as possible to get it over with

who you gonna call?????
I love these films and discovering the audio versions was an unexpected delight.
absolute gems. the narration is supurb, I highly recommend you giving it a listen.

Very poor narration
The story is great but I just couldn’t stand to listen to this narrator. His voice drones on and really spoils the experience.

Some extra fun details.
It's like having an extended version of the films go through your head. Comic timing and line delivery is all missing though, so it's kind of flat and not very funny.

Very enjoyable
Listening to this brought all the memories of the films. There are so many truly funny parts and also some extra back stories you didn't see in the movies. Only downfall is the narrator doesn't get to grips with the voices as well as I would have likes. Sometimes it was difficult to work out who was speaking and the name Venkman sounds like he's saying something else a lot of the time.
