Flat Stanley and Arthur are excited to go ice-skating on the frozen lake.

But when the weather suddenly warms up, Stanley finds himself skating on thin ice! He is having too much fun carving his name and spinning across the pond to hear Coach Bart calling everyone ashore for hot chocolate.

Thinking the other skaters are cheering for him, Stanley leaps into the air to put on one more big show! When he lands, a loud crack echoes across the melting ice right between his feet. Now that Stanley is four feet tall and only half an inch thick, he and his little brother Arthur must scramble to find a way back to shore!

Beginning readers will love following along with Flat Stanley's winter adventure.
