Sintesi dell'editore
The fourth original novel from the much-loved space Western Firefly, produced with Joss Whedon as consulting editor, set between the TV series and the movie Serenity.
A mysterious star map
On an Outer Rim moon, Captain Malcolm Reynolds ends a card game the lucky winner of an old map covered in mysterious symbols. The former owner insists it’s worthless; back on Serenity, River Tam is able to interpret it.
An ancient legend
River claims the map points the way to one of the Arks: legendary generation ships that brought humans from Earth-That-Was to the ’Verse. The salvage potential alone is staggering.
A drifting relic
As the crew approach the aged floating ship, they find it isn’t quite as dead as it first seemed. The closer they get, the more agitated River becomes. She claims something is waiting on board, something powerful, and very angry....

If only there were MORE!
You know how you'll read a review for a SF book and it will say "if you liked Firefly"? and they hold this new book up to those high standards? Well THIS is the real thing. You are back on Serenity, back in the black, with all the characters. Lebbon knows our friends inside out and Foster narrates perfectly. Right now there are only four but hopefully with enough sales and enough good reviews there will be more. I WANT MORE!! I have a purse like old Scrooge - open and moths fly out but I've bought all of these and the ebooks too and I am ready to buy MORE PLEASE!

Keep them coming
Another hit from this author. I enjoy how he continues the relationship nuances between crew members.

WHAT A GREAT CONTINUATION OF THE FIREFLY SERIES
This is one of the BEST sci-fi series ever seen on the tv and the big screen! Why it was cancelled is beyond comprehension, but these new books are a great addition to the series. This is a credit towards Joss Whedon’s original Firefly. Tim Lebbon is a great writer and does a good job in the mixing of suspense, curiosity, action, and satisfaction! He does not make the reader (or listener in this case) wait for 8 or 9 hours of story until they achieve some satisfactory resolution to the mystery in the beginning of the book. He breaks down his stories into events and satisfactory conclusions. By the end of his story all of it comes together leading up to the main reveal at the end of the storyline. Honestly though, this series makes me want to travel the stars and see for myself, exactly what is out there. Makes me wish i had been born 1000 yrs from now. Who knows, but maybe I will come back in another life when we finally begin colonizing other worlds. It is going to happen. 500 yrs ago most religions would burn you to death if you said humans would fly, or walk on the Moon, and/or communicate near instantly with people across the oceans. Yes, someday humanity will thrive on multiple planets. It may be that humanity already exists on other worlds. We may have colonized Earth and lost the knowledge or more likely those which crave power and control had the knowledge fully destroyed in order to gain or maintain control over the masses. I do not give 5 stars because every story can be improved upon, but this book is definitely 4.5 stars or higher. It is worth the $$$ and time required to listen.

Action, adventure, and suspense!
Generations
(Firefly #4)
by Tim Lebbon
This book has the Captain winning a strange map from a card game which gets the attention of the Alliance rebels. The map is also catnip for River. Only she can make sense of it. Where it leads the crew is somewhere they really shouldn't be!
The characters didn't seem as developed in this book as the others. I felt it was a story about them but I wasn't there like books 1 and 2. It was still a very exciting story.
I loved that the narrator sounds like the Captain!

Brings back memories
It was good to hear the adventures of the Serenity. Was a big fan of the series. I’ve read comic adaptations and listening to the audio books is a real treat. Thank you!

A great entry in the series
This book corrects the course of the novels that dipped in the 3rd book. My only complaint is the unclear order now, starting this book with Inara and Book on board after they had already left in book 3. Then they don't factor into the story at all, so what was the point of even including them? This book could have just been set chronologically after book 3. The story is great and interesting, though it does start to ramble in the 3rd act, particularly when the book is in the point of view of Sylas or the blue gloves, but it isn't enough to really detract from a good story. The narrator continues his, now expected, excellent work. Will definitely continue with book 5.

He said she said
Love Firefly however this is awful writing to listen to. He said , she said , Simon said, Wash said …. Said said said said …… detracts the listener from the interesting story and actually grates.

Into the Black
Much darker than the other novels in the series. I enjoyed the expansion of the verse again, with more from the Alliance and Rivers tale. That said, this is chronologically book 3 in the run and doesn’t sit the best in the overall history of the characters. Still a lovely return to beloved characters and a good stand alone story. As ever, beautifully performed by Foster.

Fascinating
I felt like this was a really great delve into the history of the verse and a great way of typing up a couple of loose ends. Excellent performance as already, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bad writing
While the story is quite good, and also the overall performance of the reader, the actual script is bad. You end up with back and forth of “he said…she said…he said”.
Ruins it.

"I flow from the past to the future."
An excellent addition to the Firefly saga in which the Serenity crew follows an old star map, as interpreted by River, into unknown space in search of another like her. All the old characters plus humour, excitement and action with an excellent narration by James Anderson Foster.

Enjoyed it so much more than expected
This is a great firefly story.
Although I missed Enora and Book, the story itself wasn’t lacking without them. The narrator does a reasonable job of impersonating the characters. He does a great job of keeping up the pace and moving the story along.
It’s a lovely extra insight into the world of the ‘verse.
