Jumping back in time used to be fun... until people started dying.

In the year 2050, London is on the verge of destruction. A thrill-seeker calling himself Sniper is about to jump back in time to create a time paradox. It's called timesplashing. It is exciting, dangerous, and the people who do it love every moment. Best of all, it doesn't change a thing - except in the present. When the acausal backwash from the splash hits the present, all hell breaks loose. Make a big enough timesplash, far enough back, and it can devastate a whole city.

Once, timesplashing was an extreme sport and an excuse for a big party. Then Sniper took it too far. People started dying. Sandra and Jay are two people whose lives were shattered in a timesplash that went badly wrong in 2047. Now, each in their own way, they are hunting the timesplashers. And if they don't find them, millions could die.

"Timesplash takes a new, and completely unique, stance on time travel in fiction, and the book will keep you involved right from beginning to end. I'm highly recommending this one to anyone who enjoys this genre." (Trevas Walker,
"This page-turner gets into action from the start: a girl in fear, the baddy supreme. Author Graham Storrs expertly paints a future world with problems even worse than at present" (Cathy McLeod, Booktaste)
"This is a great read from an Aussie writer whose work I have not previously had the pleasure of reading. Storrs obviously knows how to wrangle a good tale. Indeed, the plot of Timesplash is a solid tweak on the notion of time-travel, and the characters are tightly integrated into the action-oriented narrative." (Antipodean SF)

It's almost impossible to listen to

It took me weeks to finish this. Only because I needed breaks from the narrator. The book may have been great but I'll never know from listening to it. Sorry. I hate doing negative reviews. But it was brutal. What should have been a dynamic story was given ambien with a side of lunesta.

Time travel, as hard as living with the result

So first off, this is an entertaining book. If you like your science fiction themed action tales then there is nothing not to love about this romp. Herein though lies my problem. Picture a future, not so distant from our own, time travel is possible but is illegal due to its devastating effects on the present as time seeks to re-assert itself. A beautiful woman, a crazed ego maniac and a rough around the edges youth turned good are the main focus of the tale. Sadly none of them really grabbed me. Yes I wanted the good guys to win and the bad guy to lose but I felt somewhat along for the ride rather than involved in the tale. There is nothing really wrong with this book and many things right but the characters are just not very well realised, I didn't feel they were three dimensional and only out for revenge, carnage and atonement. I have no doubt that if the description appeals to you that you will thoroughly enjoy this book but it failed to move me beyond the last page.

Excellent Book, Reader Hard to Understand

This is an excellent short SF book on time travel with a really interesting and novel way of imagining time travel which avoids most usual pitfalls of time travel books. One negative is that the reader takes on a heavy "East Enders" accent when doing dialogs and for non-UK listeners (eg. Canada or the USA), it makes it really hard to understand a lot of the dialogs.
