Bored senseless in a meeting, Jon McNeill amuses himself with a kinky dating app on his phone. Then the app matches him with another user... who’s six feet away. Suddenly, Jon finds himself on the same page as someone who’s way above his pay grade: millionaire property developer Rick Pierce.
The app isn’t kidding, either. They’re a perfect match. Jon’s a dom, Rick’s a sub, and they both love bondage. Both guys are well into their 40s, know their way around the bedroom, and definitely appreciate a good suit. And the best part? They’re a match outside the bedroom too.
But office relationships aren’t easy to keep a secret. When the truth comes out, Jon is certain he’s about to get fired. Instead, he finds himself tangled up in a much bigger mess.
Contains two men who’ve only dreamed of this kind of sex, literal and figurative sex machines, blindfolds, a sub being punished during a business meeting, enough rope to tangle up a millionaire, and a Golden Girls marathon.
At first I though it would be more hardcore BDSM in this book, but compared to other books I thought this was fairely light, mostly Jon and Ricks realtionship and sex kink are fokused on the trust it takes for a sub to allow his dom to inflict pain. Was mostly fokused on ropes, sex toys and something that I havnt encontered before; hot wax! At times I though it was a little to much sex, but then again, the app they use to find each other is fokused to find similar people with kinks, but after a while it dials down a bit and it get more fokused on there job and developing there relationship. One of the things I really liked with this book was that they for the most part kept there dom/sub to the bedroom and didnt have it as a full-time thing. Think this was all in all a really good love storie with funny side charachters that constantly made me laught at there friendly banter at the office.
Nick were perfect for this book, he got a really sexy voice and a long range of "voices" that made him perfect in this Dom/Sub relationship.

Nick J. Russo captures these characters so well. I loved his character voices, he has great timing and pacing, and he infuses humor, emotion, and passion into this seamlessly. Nick J. Russo definitely ranks as one of my favorite narrators.
There's a lot I love about this story including that Jon and Rick are in their forties and act like it, are highly attracted to each other, how they express it, and how they grow into their relationship, and the open communication between them. It's not just about the sex - though you really should take note of the Erotica tag - there's a lot of sex. There is also some kink (but it's pretty light all in all) mixed in with a lot of vanilla sex including some rope bondage, a chastity cage, wax play, and even a sex machine all coming in to play.
It's interesting to me how the audio highlights some of the more day-to-day minutiae that I didn't really notice when rocketing through reading, which made this sometimes a little "c'mon, c'mon!" while listening. Also, told from Jon's single POV, I really would have loved to have gotten Rick's POV too. It's even more pronounced when listening to the story and I would have happily done with fewer sex scenes if I could have had some more of Jon and Rick interacting.
All in all though, this is my favorite L.A. Witt story and the narration is the perfect cherry on a sundae. It's a passionate listen - but maybe heed the title and be careful listening to this at work - unless you work alone.

The MCs, Jon and Rick, and the evolution of their relationship is engaging. Since they are forming a BDSM relationship outside of the clubs usually found in these types of books where everyone is vetted so a sense of “trust” and familiarity is granted to strangers, Rick and Jon have to form that faith slowly so the reader gets to experience the development of the trust inherent in a BDSM relationship. A bit heavy on the sex, but the typical amount for a Witt book, especially since their relationship starts as a sex/kink bond and grows from there. All the sex is definitely balanced by Jon’s less than sexy job frustrations and the grind of paying for his mortgage and his kids’ college education, so it’s a pretty well balanced story of an average guy with a kinky side.

What did you love best about Not Safe for Work?
great story, awesome narrator and a boat load of drama!
What about Nick J. Russo’s performance did you like?
i always wonder how awkward steamy scenes are gotten through i must say there must have been some serious outtakes. spoke slow and didn't rush it like some narrators do. amazing performance
Not Safe For Work is perhaps not for me, I was half through the book without even caring what happens. I even skipped an hour without noticing much difference. It's too bad because I usually like Witt's books
