Good Recap

If you've followed the story since Sophie's murder in 1996, you'll know how it ends. However, the collation is well structured and told. I suspect for those who don't know, the cat and mouse works well. The only downside for this listener is Audible's awkward technology. Other podcasts from other providers line up easily with one episode after another. For this series I had to go back and forth which became irritating during a binge listen--as well as the 'pause' button keeping the episode paused forever unless I logged back into the episode (and the too-many-steps of having to go through Amazon, to Audible, then trying to find on iTunes which would have made life easier but wasn't happening). So if Audible plans more long series, they need to up their technology for user ease.

Great production

Just finished binge listening over 2 days! Fantastic podcast series featuring an odious narcissistic character who may or may not have be a murderer. So many unanswered questions and I look forward to the next series. There has to be a next series, right?

Lump in my throat

Absolutely loved this series. Being from Ireland and familiar with the case and the area of West Cork it really touched me. For this last episode I had a constant lump in my throat. I feel so much for Pierre Louis and I admire his strength. A great investigative piece. well done to all involved.

Tragic mystery

Very interesting overview of a tragic mystery involving a number of Europeans who had relocated to West Cork and an unexplained murder at Christmas.

A true story that makes you think

I suppose everyone is afraid of being wrongly accused of something and this is an in-depth investigation into the ramifications of that scenario. I found the natural style of the recordings a bit difficult in places, but on the whole a very interesting and thought provoking production. I wanted to listen on my phone so downloaded all episodes at the start. I would recommend it.

Intriguing story and well structured

A remarkable and intriguing presentation of real events that has been well structured to weave a documentary that keeps the listener engaged to the end. I really enjoyed it.

Engrossing! Led me one way and then another...

What made the experience of listening to Ep. 13: An Intimate Conviction (West Cork) the most enjoyable?

This review is for the whole 'West Cork' series - all 13 episodes. I found them to be thoroughly engrossing - listening to the various parties involved - my thoughts changed as I listened through all episodes.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Listening to the two investigative journalists bringing their connections and interest - hearing the questions that the information posed for them made it a really thought-provoking experience.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Keeping at the forefront all the time that this was about a young lady's terrible murder in 1996.

Any additional comments?

Definitely worth a listen to. I couldn't wait to listen to the next episode.
