exceptional approach for beginners and 'experts'

What did you like about this audiobook?

Lock Kelly draws the reader or listener in with generosity and grace. This is by far the most elegant and user friendly approach to the mindfulness/meditation literature that I have come across.

Once again Loch Kelly has the knowledge and ability to In a simple and easy way help us understand what we really are and teach us how to live from there. Fantastic book.

Loch Kelly may be a genius

In this book Loch carefully unwinds the ego construct that has become so binding for us. With simple instructions he walks you through each layer of confusion until things get very simple.

Mindfulness Turbo Charged

It was so gratifying to listen to Loch Kelly’s description of what I’ve come to think of as “the missing piece of mindfulness,” that is, mindfulness of awareness itself.

This audio book is superb at leading you from basic mindfulness to effortless mindfulness, or “open-hearted awake awareness.”

I was particularly fascinated by his discussion of allowing the knower and the known to be in the same place.  "Being aware from wherever you are aware of" is a huge step toward embodied awakening. "Not only are you aware of space but notice that you are aware from space."

His “glimpse practices” can serve as wonderful guided meditations, and as steps you can learn and use throughout your day.  “Small glimpses many times,” as he puts it

Another enlightening section is his description of awake awareness as the addressee of the glimpse instructions: “The unique thing about this direct inquiry method that uses awareness rather than thinking, is that when I'm asking you to glimpse, I'm not talking to your ego, I'm talking to you, the awake awareness. And I'm asking you through the ego, and through the clouds of ignorance, and through confusion, 'Knock, knock. Hey, Awakeness, can you please unhook from thought and notice yourself?’ “  Great stuff.

He also touches on illuminating subjects such as sub-personalities, motivation, the “mini-me,” the Five Foundations of Effortless Mindfulness, and the Three Stillnesses.

A new way to look at mindfulness

I was struggling to help explain mindfulness to my friends and family because it always seemed difficult for them to relate to the feeling I experienced after years of practice. While there is no substitute for a life of practice, I found some of the basic exercises gave a pretty immediate sensation and new mode of being. The simplicity with which Loch teaches and explains makes it feel so accessible, without the long theoretical hypothesises on metaphysics some schools of thought have. I truly believe in the potential impact of this work for reaching a lot of people, and I will do my part. I was already practicing non dual meditation, but this really helped fill in a lot of the gaps in my experience.

Truly transformational

I have been searching for all 4 decades of my life for the knowledge and understanding of how to conduct my life in a way that works for me. After understanding the basic principles of how life works by learning from people like Sadhguru and Alan Watts, I came across Loch Kelly, who was able to explain and walk me through the awareness exercises in a way which was truly effortless to me, the only effort required was my willingness to try.
Practicing these glimpses are really just like learning how to ride a bike or swim, I just had to try couple of times and they worked, much faster than learning a physical ability, because awareness is truly there and the only thing I had to learn was to "see it".

I listened to each chapter until everything was clear and integrated before moving on. Some took 1, some took 5 listenings. Overall I was able to go through the process in one week, dedicating 2 hours per day. Today I will go out and live with this awareness as much as I can and I'm looking forward to dive into something new tomorrow by the same author. Thank you for your love to humanity, Loch Kelly, your work has effects beyond this Earth, so no words would be able to properly describe my appreciation. I'm pretty speechless, maybe in the future Amazon will have a feature to leave an "energy imprint review" of what we experience after reading a book.

Inspiring,. Specific practices that work

In a companionable voice, Loch leads you along the way to an integrative view of awakening. His exercises point the way to awake awareness. I recommend it highly.

Great! Fills in a lot of blanks...effortlessly :-)

Blend of science, guided practice and explanation of ‘maps / stages’ especially explaining the differences between basic mindfulness (focused attention & open monitoring) and Non dual effortless mindfulness then onto Embodied Open Hearted Heart Mindfulness. Lots of relatively short practice sessions , few scientific research studies, linking in the complete path and the pinnacle of Spiritual Awakening. Filled in a lot of gaps and makes perfect sense for me. Probably good for beginners but great for experienced practitioners especially with some grounding in the spiritual path - listen to this now to take your mindfulness practice / life to the next level.
