Sintesi dell'editore

What can you do when your spiritual search loses its joy? The answer to this crucial question, according to author Steven Harrison, is simple: Do nothing.

In Doing Nothing, Harrison offers a refreshing new voice for those who have struggled for years with meditation, psychotherapy, and the religious life - only to find themselves no happier than when they began. Through an unfolding of provocative questions and unexpected insights, Harrison shows how he emerged from his own exhausting 25-year quest for enlightenment and encourages us to do the same - not by discarding our spiritual lives but through the simple act of stopping the search and seeing what happens next. As it turns out, Doing Nothing is a surprisingly active experience, says Harrison, for it is only here that we discover who we are and what we are.

Doing Nothing is Steven Harrison's brilliant and challenging inquiry into how you can liberate yourself from a spirituality based on "doing" - and experience a freedom available only in the silence of your own stillness.

Are you exhausted trying to end the search?

Steven Harrison explains in less than 2 hours in great detail and excellent examples how we perpetuate the self that seeks and how it comes to it's end. The seeking itself is suffering and separate self "trying" to keep the separate self alive, it is all nothing but mind/ego/separate self and it is the very seeking that creates suffering AND prevents our FULL attention in the present moment which is who we really are minus the seeker. Minus the seeker, all that is left is Life. I've been full seeking mode after a spiritual awakening that the separate self tried to "identify" with for over 2 years. It has been exhausting and miserable wrestling with all the nondual concepts and ego identification "trying" to recover that deep Stillness and bliss and the only thing preventing returning to the Stillness was the separate self that was trying to attain the awakening. The separate self is just an illusion basically that has to have time to exist, what we are is Timeless.
