Sintesi dell'editore
As Promise Lodge's first wedding arrives, the evidence of a community building a foundation for the future is a cause for celebration. But the bishop's narrow-minded wedding sermon doesn't sit well with the Bender sisters, the town's courageous founders, especially widowed Mattie Schwartz. She believes marriage and family aren't the most important of God's gifts - even if she suspects her tender feelings for Preacher Amos Troyer run deeper than simple friendship. When an accident threatens to change the course of his life forever, he wonders if the Lord has sent him a message. He'll need faith, hope, and charity to find the right path - and a Christmas blessing to convince Mattie to walk it with him.

A waste of two credits for two of these bookz
Author gets you interested in the happenings of characters and then just doesn’t give you anymore about them. For example, Roman is interested in young Mary Kate, in the book prior… her father disapproves of the marriage proposal… the book ends, no conclusion to their story. The next book they are married, without addressing her fathers disapproval… and they are never really mentioned again. I wasted two credit to hear a conclusion to this story that wasn’t wrapped up in either book

Second book of new series
Again another good book. My only complaint with this book was it left out the conclusion to Roman and Mary Kate. I am hoping it will pickup in the next book. But reading the preview of it their is no mention of them and if they end up getting married. Just more new characters and more issues with them.

Christmas miracles
I enjoyed this continued story of Promise Lodge and their Plain folks. I was super concerned when both bishops were affected after trying to lessen what could have been a tragedy.

disabled people will be offended
i usually love her books. but, this was so obvious from the beginning. More importantly, it is inaccurate on medical information and very frustrating for disabled people and also inaccurate for typical Amish communities. too much info to type here. 1. x-rays do not show nerve damage. 2. for those of us that do not have full use if our legs...we are not incomplete people as the author suggests by saying a man in a wheelchair is not a complete man. 3. pharmaceutical antidepressants do not work instantly. they can take many days to weeks. 4. most Amish groups will not tolerate a bishop that is not teaching what the group believes. They do not accept a bishop from an outside group without contacting his previous community

Another outstanding performance
Susan Boyce once again brought an outstanding performance to a great Amish book. She gives Charlotte's characters in all her books to life.
