Sintesi dell'editore

The world of the Runelords has been combined by magic with another one parallel it, the beginning of a process that may unify all worlds into the one true world.

This story picks up after the events of The Wyrmling Horde and follows two of Farland’s well-known heroes, Borenson and Myrrima, on a quest to save their devastated land and the people of the new world from certain destruction. But the land is not the only thing that has been altered forever: In the change, Borenson has merged with a mighty and monstrous creature from the other world, Aaath Ulber.

He begins to change, becoming a berserker warrior with a huge new body. Thousands have died. Lands have sunk below the sea and, elsewhere, risen from it. And the supernatural rulers of the world are part of a universal evil yet play a byzantine game of dark power politics among themselves - a game in which Aaath Ulber is now the most significant pawn….

Excellent but....

If you could sum up Chaosbound in three words, what would they be?

It's excellent but...

What did you like best about this story?

That is was so exciting and pulled on into the moment.

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Excellent as always. He truly holds the characters and story together.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh I laughed and cried in many places, especially at the deaths of so many characters. The pain of Fallion in the last book is multiplied in this story by all the horrible events taking place. When Mirama (sp?) died.

Any additional comments?

I hope the story really doesn't end here. I feel somehow cheated. I get the feeling that the author finished the book this way because of the death of his own wife of which I'm greatly saddened to hear. I understand there was a book 9 but it's been pulled for some reason and I guess I don't expect the series to continue as it may be to difficult for the author to do. He appears to have moved on to other stories.

Not Long Enough

I’m so invested in this story, I don’t want it to stop!!! But here I am, now waiting for the next.. I’m completely satisfied with the story and the characters and the narrator.

Worst book in the series

This one basically was a complete divergence from the main story and didn't follow any of the main characters. It was like a side book.
But the worst of it was both that the author kept getting his facts wrong when taking about what happened in the other books, and that their were done major changes in characters personalities that not only couldn't be explained away with just that they got older, but also made them unable to be related with or even really like. it was almost like this was ghost written by someone who hadn't really read the series.
A major step down in a series that was already average at best. Glad this didn't cost anything.

Well done, but....

Well written, dripping with overwhelming tragedy.. almost too much so but still worth the read.

Unexpected direction

I was hoping for things to wrap up so if the cliffhangers from the last book but we get a completely new plot line. That being said, the plot line is really good and the characters are familiar so after the initial disappointment of things not getting resolved, I sat back and enjoyed the story. Ray Porter provides excellent narration.

Thrilling adventure

Great installment that introduces Borenson’s other half. Takes you on a thrilling adventure that gives you hope for the humans to face the wyrmlings in the final installment.

Good but little forward progress

For those who listened or read the series, this book continues the tale and does contain excitement and intrigue, but does little to progress the plot of the series or move toward a conclusion.

I like the characters and narration is very good. What detracts from this book is the same thing that has detracted from the rest of the series, the theft of gifts to create the heroes and villains.
