Sintesi dell'editore
Frank W. Abagnale, alias Frank Williams, Robert Conrad, Frank Adams, and Robert Monjo, was one of the most daring con men, forgers, imposters, and escape artists in history. In his brief but notorious criminal career, Abagnale donned a pilot's uniform and copiloted a Pan Am jet, masqueraded as the supervising resident of a hospital, practiced law without a license, passed himself off as a college sociology professor, and cashed over $2.5 million in forged checks, all before he was 21. Known by the police of 26 foreign countries and all 50 states as "The Skywayman", Abagnale lived a sumptuous life on the lam - until the law caught up with him.
Now recognized as the nation's leading authority on financial foul play, Abagnale is a charming rogue whose hilarious, stranger-than-fiction international escapades and ingenious escapes - including one from an airplane - make Catch Me If You Can an irresistible tale of deceit. It's also a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
Please note: This audiobook does not include the last portion of the physical book (epilogue).
"Zingingly told...richly detailed and winning as the devil." (Kirkus Reviews)

This audio book is NOT COMPLETE, epilogue missing!
What would have made Catch Me If You Can better?
I'm trying to get Audible's attention.
This audio book ends abruptly missing the end of the last chapter and the epilog.
DO NOT BUY THIS AUDIBLE BOOK!

Veryy entertaining but Cut Short
I enjoyed this book immensly. Mr. Abignale Weaves a wonderful story that traces his life as a brilliant "paper hanger." I learned some things I never knew. His ability to create relationships and trust is truly amazing. He has a very keen mind and it was a pleasure to watch it work. The only problem I had with the book was a premature ending. I was left hanging.

Really entertaining!
This is very entertaining title and Barry Whitener does an incredible job narrating. Barry does the voices and acting so well you forget there's only one person performing.

Great Story - Who Stole The Ending?
Catch Me If You Can, made into a movie a few years ago with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, was my first introduction to the story of Frank Abagnale, Jr. This is "truth is stranger than fiction" at its finest and one of my most enjoyable listens from audible. My only problem with it is the ending. Spoilled by the movie, which details his time with the FBI and then, in the ending credits, talks about his subsequent consulting work helping combat check fraud for banks and businesses, the audio book doesn't get into any of that, but ends very abruptly - like many of Abagnale's alter-ego lives. Still very enjoyable and highly recommended with very good narration.

Read the book AND watch the movie
What a great story. Truely it must be read to be believed. The only thing that I didn't like was the long time spent on his time in the French jail. That was brutal. The rest of the story was very light and whimsical. That part was disturbing. Also, I think the ending leaves a very different impression than the ending of the movie, so for closure see the movie, for the details, enjoy this wonderful story - truth is stranger than fiction!

Good, but ends suddenly
I liked it, but the sudden ending and lack of any epilogue was a bit jarring.

Amazing true story
I thoroughly enjoyed the telling of this sport span of white collar crime in a person so young. It is truly unbelievable that a mere teenager could have pulled off so much and fooled so many. The narrator kept my attention throughout. Although I had already viewed the film, I found the book so much more entertaining. If you saw the movie and liked it, I recommend that you follow up your experience with this book.

Much better than the movie!
The movie is very loosely based on this book - and this book is far better. I enjoyed listening to this book more than any others I've listened to in a while. The only criticism I have is that the ending seems rather sudden. Interestingly, Mr. Abagnale never reveals the name of the university he taught at in the book. In the bonus material for the movie, though, he does - Brigham Young University. As a former BYU student myself, and one that still lives in the area, I found that part of the book especially interesting.

Way to go, Kid?
Breezy, fascinating story of an amoral teenager duping the adult world and enjoying *almost* every moment of it. (The French prison portion is harrowing.) No surprise: better than the movie. Reader is excellent. Well worth it.

Definitely recommended!
loved it! So interesting and captured my interest right from the start. I saw the film 'Catch Me If You Can' and downloaded the audiobook to hear a more accurate account of Frank Abagnale's life. I was so surprised to learn that he was as bold and intelligent, if not more so, than he was depicted in the movie! I enjoyed the audiobook no end. I've listened to it a few times and I'm still amazed by the ingenuity and inventiveness of Frank and his brazen frauds. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Captivating - his audacity is astounding
Abagnale glibly tells a story of an ingenious criminal lifestyle. He expresses guilt a few times over something that he did, but it's always some off-the-wall little thing that pales in comparison to the jobs and lives of the people that his behavior likely wrecked.
It's a grabber. From the start, I was so engrossed. How much of it is Abagnale's own words and how much is Redding's work I have no clue. Whoever is responsible for the bulk of the writing did a top notch job.
It's not often I read a book that holds my attention like this one does. The sheer imagination and audacity it took to pull off Abagnale's capers is something to marvel at, however unacceptable his activities might have been.
He gets his. You'll know what I mean when you reach that point in the story.
Get this, its well worth your time.

This book is his biggest con
A journalist has disproven most of his story in a book released this year. It turns out that the biggest con is his life story!

Fascinating!
This is the most enthralling story I have heard in a long time. As usual the book is better than the movie. The genius of Frank Abagnale is incredible and you will find yourself continually astounded by the ways in which he scams, tricks and alludes everyone he wishes to. You will not be disappointed.

Funny and engaging
I did enjoy this book. It is written in such an engaging way, very light hearted and humorous for the most part, and it is difficult not to side with Frank villain and conman though he is. How true to life it really is.. your guess is as good as mine but it makes for a terrific story. A tad repetitive at times, but the book doesn't drag. Narration is top class and adds a lot to the book.
Worth a listen if you're looking for something different from a run of the mill thriller, for example.

Great story
Really enjoyed listening to this, not least for the narrator’s attempt at accents. His French/Transylvanian always made me smile.

Fascinating tale
A brilliant cat and mouse tale, although predominantly focused on Frank. A life that is hard to believe.
