Sintesi dell'editore
What’s the perfect audiobook for fans of New York Times best-selling mystery authors Lilian Jackson Braun and Rita Mae Brown? This delightful ninth Joe Grey Mystery from award-winning author Shirley Rousseau Murphy.
Evil has crept into Molena Point, California, on stealthy cat feet. A rash of brazen burglaries, from antique jewelry to vintage cars, coincides with the unwelcome appearance of yellow-eyed Azrael, feline nemesis of crime-solving cats Joe Grey and Dulcie. But what follows soon after really has Joe’s fur standing on edge. A young, healthy waiter drops dead at a reception for local artist Charlie Harper. And when the trail of big-time thefts leads up to San Francisco, the dark beast, Azrael is on the scene. Does he have contact with a stalker and a handsome philanderer? If Joe and Dulcie don’t get to the bottom of these misdeeds soon, they and all their human friends will have ample reasons to be afraid - very afraid.
It’s time for the feline sleuths to start sniffing out the truth.

Story was decent.
Good plot line. I didn't like how two of the main characters became insipid idiots.

turned a strong confident woman into an jellyfish.
I hate stories that have people behaving in ways that no real person ever would because without it there would be no story. In this case, Kate's part starts with someone( and she knows who) dressing up as her,and trying to get into her safety deposit box. This was recorded by the banks security. She could have the woman arrested, but she doesn't want to spend an afternoon at the police station, she has better things to do.This in itself is hard to believe. Then the woman, along with the evil cat, steals her keys, and starts coming into her apt. every day does she do what even the most timid, silly person would do,which is call the police and show them her ransacked appt.,have the locks changed, and nail the window shut that the cat is coming in through. She could have had the woman arrested at any time,or even got a security system with motion detectors,to set when she's away at work, instead she does absolutely nothing, living in her unsecure appt.,in mounting terror, from a threat that she could stop at anytime. For even more irratinal stupidity, she has a stalker for weeks following her everywhere, does she take pictures of him with her phone,or even a camera, and go to the police with them, like anyone else would do ,nope she just continues in terror, while doing nothing. She doesn't buy a taser, pepper spray or ,take self defence classes.orANYTHING. It makes no sense and is completely out of character for Kate.I really like the Joe Grey mysterys but this one(at least Kate's part made no sense.I did like the ending though.Azriel was such an angry bitter cat,I am glad he got a happy ending anyhow.

Great except for Kate
yeah, I just don't like the character Kate. I initially thought the whole shifter vibe just didn't jibe with the rest of the series but now I've realised it's just Kate herself. The way she constantly chastises herself for not knowing how to protect herself (over many books now), then buries her head in the sand and does nothing to address this, annoys me dreadfully. Yet if this character was handled differently I'd enjoy her plots arcs

Had to fast forward
So tired of Kate! I enjoy these stories, however I end up wanting yell at, or maybe slap Kate. What normal person would not call the police when someone gets into your safty deposit box, or your apartment? Also why do you keep telling yourself that your jewelry is paste when someone is trying to steal it? Are you too stuped to get a second opinion? Please make Kate smarter!

Cat Fear No Evil
I enjoyed this book except for Kate. She was such a whimp. She coward at everything, and she wouldn't stand up for herself. I hope she's out of the picture now. Joe Gray was right on the money as usual.

Great read as always.
Loved it ! This is one of the darkest of her series. Thrilling
I would love to speak with Ms. S
Russo Murphy just to ask her how she has come up with 21
incredibly different stories that
are all winners. I never read a novel twice. Except the complete works of Sir Author
Connyn Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. All thought Doyle's writing credits are vast and not
all the same genra.
