The devil whispers in my ear, “Your mother can never know about this… it will kill her if she ever finds out.” Fear quakes in my six-year-old body. Shame saturates me like a soggy mist. And then Jesus calls my name… Oh my, He’s a breath of fresh air. His Bible stories are amazing. And He’s promising me new life. Can I really have new life? How can I trust God with the evil haunting me? Where was He when I was sexually abused? How can I know He won’t fail me again?
