Sintesi dell'editore

Ivy Morgan hasn't been feeling like herself lately. Not like anyone can blame her. After all, being held captive by a psychotic fae prince hell-bent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld is bound to leave some mental scars.

It's more than that, though. Something dark and insidious is spreading throughout Ivy, more powerful than she could ever imagine...and it's coming between her and the man she's fallen deeply in love with, elite Order member Ren Owens.

Ren would do anything to keep Ivy safe. Anything. But when he makes a life-altering choice for her, the fallout of his act has far-reaching consequences that threaten to tear their lives apart.

If Ivy is going to have any hope of surviving this, she must put aside the hurt and betrayal she feels and work not only with those she loves but with an enemy she would rather kill than ever trust. War is coming, and it soon becomes clear that what Ivy and Ren thought they knew about the Order, themselves, and even their enemies has been nothing but a cluster of dangerous, deadly lies.

Ivy knows she must be more than just brave to save those she loves - and, ultimately, to save herself.

Meehhh

It was alright. I loved the first 2 books but this one had a lot of self pity and whining.

Great Ending to the Trilogy

Everything came together nicely in the final book of the trilogy. Love worked, catching the bad guys worked, the story concludes with a sigh of happiness.

Completely unpredictable...

Any additional comments?

Holy crap!! The last 2 hours of this book have blown my mind. Tink was a total surprise. He's my favorite character and one of the reasons I love these book's. I've missed so much sleep by not being able to pause. Never have I been this swept away by a series. This one ends with the possibility of another installment and I can't wait.

beautiful!!<br />

I love this book! especially how it so modern with shipping companies and popular restaurants. It's funny, kickass, cheesy but romantic, emotion-filled, adventurous, and very thrilling! one of the best I've read.

Exciting Wonderful Series!

First off, the audio is terrific! The narrator does a great job, and I loved her for the main character Ivy. She narrated for all the previous books too, and she did great the whole time.

This is the third book in the series, and despite it saying it's a trilogy; it isn't. There is a 4th book coming, but what is different is a different main character. Don't read the synopsis for the next book if you don't want some of this book to be spoiled some. If you haven't read the previous books, you need to start at the beginning first before reading Brave because this a continuing story. There may be spoilers for the first books, so beware!

Ivy is dealing with PTSD from her time with The Prince, and she's pushing people away because of it. She was forced with Fae compulsion to feed from humans, and is having a difficult time not blaming herself for it. She's also staying at the Good Fae compound, and it's definitely weird for her. It's hard for her to trust any type of Fae with how she grew up in The Order. Ren and Tink are there too, and are doing what they can to help Ivy. I loved that Ren isn't letting her push him away. So, Ivy is dealing with a lot, but she doesn't have the luxury of wallowing. The Prince is upping his game, and not everything is as it seems. Ivy will discover there's a lot more secrets she doesn't know. Loved the action in this one! Loved the twist! The romance is super sweet, and I love the connection between Ren and Ivy. They are too adorable! Of course, they have sexy times too. It was great to see the support they have for each other.

The only thing I didn't like was that Tink was sexualized. This is sort of a spoiler, so beware. Tink enters into a sexual relationship with someone, and I just cringed every time Tink and sex were mentioned. He is mostly in his normal human size, and I missed him being small Tink. He's not much of a comic relief in normal human size. Also, I wanted Ivy to have her comeuppance with Breena (Unsure of the spelling since I listened to the audio). That was scenario was disappointing.

Overall, I have really enjoyed this series. I loved book 1 and 3, and I really liked book 2. I'd definitely recommend reading the series. It's entertaining and the direction the story takes isn't always expected. Also, definitely do the audio books! They added to my love of the series! I'm definitely going to read the next book, but I'm not sure about the female lead for it. Hopefully she surprises me!

Not my favorite

I loved the first two books. The narrator changed her voice in the third book. She drug out her words and not with one character but most characters. This absolutely drove me crazy. I could barely finish this book. I also stayed mad at the main character for most of the book.

Worst of the Three

This book destroyed Ivy as a character. She acts so stupid and weak this book. She was a strong character the first two books but this book she just whined to much. Like a teen girl, it made me cringe so much. The first 75% of the book was so tiring and I had to power through it. It feels like the author was just trying to fill pages.

A conclusion I am okay with

World Building: A
Girl Power: A+
Guy-Hero: A+

Villains: A
Feels: B+
Suspense: B

For you clean-readers: this book does not have mature content. Some scene-skipping might be necessary.

No, say it aint so Joe!

Good story line, but a little slow the first half of the book. I hope another book follows soon. Would love to see this storyline to have closure.

Very disappointing from JLA

I’m a fan of JL Armentrout, her Covenant series are my all time favourite YA books and I thoroughly enjoyed her many other works too (despite the often poor editing, relentlessly repeated and overused phrases, cliches and textbook characters). But this whole series was way below par, and the third instalment was simply a chore to get through.
Where do I start? The narration was mediocre at best. Amy kept mixing up who she wanted to give voice to, accents and tones were all over the place. Her males are cheesy and her impersonations inconsistent.
One of the biggest shockers was the sudden name change of a rather important character: David of the first 2 books suddenly became Daniel, I mean, come on, how do you forget what you called the order’s New Orleans leader, Jennifer??? And how much is the editor that didn’t pick up on it make in a month, because I totally want his/her job.
I found this book very tired and rather slow, uneventful and thoroughly predictable. Even in the last 5 minutes I hoped for a big shocker that never came. The ending was “meh” and didn’t really weave in the ends. I didn’t even feel the main romance, which is an absolute first for me in a JLA book!
The only positive I can say about it is there was a few fairly good steamy scenes in it. By far the weakest link in the chain, I wouldn’t recommend this series, but those who got this far will probably want to know the ending just like I did, so it will sell copies nonetheless.

Loved it

I loved the being to this trilogy although a part of me hopes for spin offs or another book in a few years. The narrator is insanely good and I just love these books.
