Sintesi dell'editore
Welcome to the Kuiperverse, a riveting, hard science fiction universe cocreated and written by Matthew Medney (Heavy Metal Magazine CEO, NYU adjunct professor) and John Connelly (Lockheed Martin aerospace engineer).
Starring the vocal talents of Kyle Perrin, Dylan Sprouse, and George C. Romero.
Beyond Kuiper is brought to the audio medium as an immersive sound designed and scored audiobook. Includes 21 original tracks (written and produced by Kyle Perrin and Matthew Medney) that are available alongside the Codex as bonus chapters.
The Galactic Star Alliance has been alive and well for millions of Earth years. Hundreds of thousands of worlds and trillions of beings move across the many home worlds of the Alliance. This revelation invites many questions: How is faster-than-light speed travel possible, and could cohesive, interstellar civilizations exist without it? Is it conceivable to govern a coalition not of different countries but of different species?
There are some who believe it is out there. Not as science-fantasy but as science.
We introduce Bernard William Hubert. World-renowned astrophysicist and lead scientist of the seminal company of exploration, Outer Limits. While on loan to CERN, a catastrophe of unimaginable proportions leaves Bernard as the sole survivor. While the scientific community and world look to him for answers, he simply states the unthinkable: "It has to be aliens." Inconceivable to the world, the Hubert family is investigated, and his family's name tarnished.
Disgraced and shunned, Bernard claws his way back into the equation with his new company, C.O.R.E., as they work tirelessly to design an engine capable of interstellar travel.
Follow Bernard on his road to redemption and discovery in this ensemble cast of futurism, space travel, and the fate of our species. As for the title, from where would our judges watch us?
The Galactic Star Alliance awaits your exploration.
“An exercise in serious world building and storytelling seldom undertaken on this scale, especially by first-time novelists.” (Jeff Berkwitz, Sci-Fi Magazine)
“Galaxy-spanning science fiction with both smarts and hearts...and impressive, immersive world-building.” (Ron Marz, author of Green Lantern, Silver Surfer, Witchblade)
“Science fiction often asks us to reckon with the current zeitgeist while enveloping the reader in a saga that takes us far, far away from our everyday problems. If done successfully, it’s truly fantastic. And Beyond Kuiper is truly fantastic sci-fi.” (Joe Trohman, creator of Fall Out Boy)

Dirstracting Sound effects.
The amount of extra sounds and music added in really detracts from the over all story. Weather it was music, sound effect over voices or just the extra long pauses while the narrator waited for the sounds to stop, pulled me out if the story every time. There are numerous high pitched ringing similar to tennitus at the begainning, this alone made it near impossible to listen to. In some instances the music or a blank part goes on for an extended amount of time that I wasnt sure if the book paused or was ended.
The length of the book is around 9 hours, not the nearly 14 that is stated. There is about 3 hours worth of music at the end of the book, with a glossery as well. The glossery does not add anything as its the same as what is between the chapters.
The story is interesting with some pretty good sci-fi baked in. If you are interested in the story I highly suggest you get a hard copy or e-pub version.

Okay... ish
Sad to report that after getting a copy of the book, reading about the first third & thinking that it would be awesome as an audio book, I’m having a tough time with the voice work. It’s not awful, but it’s not great either. Gonna go back to reading...

Beyond Kuiper is just the type of scifi i love!
I started listening to Beyond Kuiper on Audible because I’m always looking for new scifi & this new book was recommended by a friend. It’s a great premise for a story & a flawless execution by the authors. Following Bernard’s journey leaves me wanting to hear the story continue!

By Try-Hards, for Try-Hards
This is clearly a book written by people that think their RPG experience was so epic, it deserved to be inflicted upon the masses. The number and overtness of the pop culture references is distracting. The foley work is too forward. The narrations are awful. The characters are lame. However, the most annoying and distracting this is the use of made up words to represent alien time and distance...yet use Earth words to describe other things. Why make something as ubiquitous as TIME and SPACE harder to understand? Overall, this is an amateurish slog through a tired stack of tropes. the soundtrack is ok though...

Not great for audio
Book itself may have been more enjoyable if I had read it and not listened. Not a big fan of the two minute intros and outros after every chapter. Also the Lore cataloging is just hard to sit through and completely breaks story flow but I supposed that's were it would have worked best at just a sit and read vs a listen. Strangely there is a music album in the middle of the book with over 20 songs. If I wanted to listen to music I would have done that but I wanted a nice sci audio and got this instead. Made it about three quarters of the way through before I couldn't take anymore.

A refreshing new sci-fi fiction I couldn't stop!!
I absolutely love a book that can take two separate stories and simultaneously weave them together from alternative perspectives.
I listened to this entire book in about 3 days. I couldn't stop coming back to it, playing it in my car, at work, while I was in the shower, rewinding 30 seconds to make sure I was taking it in.
when i wasn't listening I found myself reflecting the plot and trying to predict what was going to happen... I was always wrong.
So excited for the sequel!!

THEY DID THE DAMN THING!!!
This book....oh my....I am SUPER excited to have had the chance to listen to it right away!!! I have since received my physical book and just LOVE the artwork. Back to the story, I will say that one of my favorite sci-fi series started with Ender's Game and I mean I love that whole series of books. THIS book however reminds me so much of that series! Different stories, but gave me that same wonderful and excited feeling of being on a great adventure! I really love the characters and felt as if I was able to understand and know them very well. I did not know what to expect, but will say that I was AWESOMELY AMAZED and totally entertained by this book. The audio book was INCREDIBLE, especially the music and sounds that pulled me in as the story was being read. The score during the reading made the story more alive for me.
I will say that if you are a sci-fi junkie, you will definitely appreciate this book. I was grateful for the footnotes both in the audio and the physical book...it was like learning a new code of language and helped give me a better insight into the entire story, the characters and the settings. I am just super excited that there will be more of this journey to enjoy in the future! The only giveaway I will provide is that the story doesn't end here...so much more to come! Looking forward to it!!!

Must read!
What drives our sense of duty? Is the ego or the Id? Bernard grapples with this constantly and the authors do a great job of holding their cards close and not revealing their true hand. I am already excited for the possibility of a second book and a deeper understanding of motivations as each central character moves through this artistically, and carefully, crafted world.
The Complex and intriguing plot move this seemingly timeless story quickly and succinctly. It is peppered with pop culture references and “tips of the hat” to modern sci-fi. With the latter age as gracefully as the former? Only time will tell. This novel keep me on the edge of my seat and ready for more.
From the audible books I have listened to this has its own sound track. A++ they nail the sound scape of this novel and world and completely an authentic sound that does not appear contrived or over ambitious. Blow away by this alone.

Unrealized anticipation
The book is a garbled mess with no coherence and massive exposition dumps at the end of each chapter to try to explain the fabricated alien languages used in the previous chapter, but it doesn't work at all I still don't know what a prike is... The dumps, along with the 5 minute music intermissions completely ruin what flow the book had left. The entire book is one huge buildup with a crescendo that never comes
Give this a miss
