He stood just three feet tall, but his wit was larger than life! Charlie McCarthy was made of wood, but to millions of radio listeners, he was as real as Edgar Bergen - and much, much funnier. Impudent, irreverent, and positively irrepressible, here are 16 rare and classic radio episodes featuring Charlie himself.
The droll dummy is delighted when special guests Hedy Lamar, Veronica Lake, Ray Milland, Ed Gardner, and Orson Welles stop by. Ray Noble and his Orchestra are also on hand, along with a young Jane Powell. And, oh yeah, Edgar Bergen's here, too.
