Sony is cutting jobs at Sucker Punch despite the success of Ghost of Yōtei, and Call of Duty is facing controversy over real-life tragedy footage. Seriously, WHAT is happening to the gaming industry?!

First up, Sucker Punch, the studio behind Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yōtei, is reportedly facing layoffs affecting roughly 10% of its workforce. How can a studio deliver a successful game and STILL lose employees? Are PlayStation and other gaming giants cutting costs out of necessity, or is corporate greed getting out of control? And could AI be making things even worse for game developers?

Then, Activision is facing backlash over footage associated with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 that reportedly included imagery from the tragic 2022 Itaewon crowd crush in South Korea. Is this an innocent mistake, an attempt at realism, or a serious lapse in judgment?

We're talking corporate greed, AI replacing jobs, skyrocketing console prices, developer job security, and whether the gaming industry is slowly pricing itself into oblivion.

We Want YOUR Opinion!

Are Sony, Microsoft, and other gaming giants making necessary business decisions, or has corporate greed gone too far? And should real-world tragedies EVER be used in video games?
