THE GRACE OF GOD SAVES US.

· Man’s moral bankruptcy.

· The Justice of God

· The inability of man to please God.

· “The sovereign freedom of God.”

We are desperately in need of God’s grace.

Jesus “the Anointed One”

(Hebrew: Messiah. Greek: Christ.)

Jesus the Christ is both God and Savior.

The grace of God has appeared in Jesus, bringing salvation to all people.

To be clear—this is not a statement of universalism—that at the end of the day all will be saved. Paul is saying: The work of Jesus on the cross is sufficient for all; efficient for those he calls to believe.

THE GRACE OF GOD TRANSFORMS US.

The authority Titus is to use to exhort and rebuke is the Word of God. Think of the Bible this way.

· God is the Sovereign Authority.

· All Authority was given to Jesus (Matt. 28:18).

· Jesus gave authority to the Apostles at his Ascension.

· The Apostles gave authority to early church leaders.

· The Apostles spoke with the authority of God, inspired by God.

THE GRACE OF GOD DELIVERS US SAFELY HOME.

REDEEM

· agorazo—“to buy a slave in the marketplace” (2 Pet. 2:1, Rev. 5:9)

· exagorazio—“to purchase a slave out of the marketplace” (Gal. 3:13; 4:5)

· lutroo—“to release or set free by payment of a ransom” (1 Tim. 2:6, Titus 2:14)

Belief drives behavior.

Behavior reveals belief.

Behavior is where belief becomes visible.

The Grace of God is the source of salvation.

The Grace of God is the motive of salvation.

The Grace of God is the guarantee of salvation.

If someone watched your life this week, what would your behavior reveal about what you believe about God?

Belief drives behavior. Behavior reveals belief. And the grace that saves us is the grace that transforms.
