A grizzled miner ghost peeks around the fridge of a haunted Airbnb near Death Valley, and the owner locked eyes with him for seven long seconds. In partnership with Airbnb, host Aaron Sagers travels to Beatty, Nevada, the “Gateway to Death Valley,” to stay in a “miner chic” cabin built from three miners’ shacks hauled down from the ghost town of Rhyolite around 1925. Owner Derek Stonebarger shares his encounter with the bearded miner who never checked out, and the whiskey he still pours for him. Aaron leaves his recorder running in the empty house. A creepy church tied to Charles Manson lore, and the eerie silence of Death Valley’s Mosaic Canyon, where a raven became Aaron’s trail guide.
