Hello, dear friend, and welcome. I'm Walter, and tonight's sleep story is The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, written by Robert Louis Stevenson and first published in 1886.
We'll wander through the lamplit streets of old London with Mr. Utterson, a kind and quiet lawyer who is worried about his oldest friend. Along the way we'll meet his cheerful cousin Enfield, the gentle Dr. Lanyon, the faithful servant Poole, and the mysterious figure behind a certain door. I'll tell it slowly and softly, in plain words, with a few lines from the old book to keep us company.
So dim the lights, settle in, and let the fog drift in and out as you listen. Rest easy wherever you are. New classic tales come every Monday and Friday on Midnight Moonlight Tales. Goodnight, and sleep well.
