From Palace to Desert: God Prepares Moses for the Burning Bush Exodus 2:15–3:1
In today’s devotional, we follow Moses into Midian—an unfamiliar land where he arrives with no identity, no community, and no sense of belonging. Egypt rejected him. The Hebrews rejected him. And Midian was not home. Yet this season of total exile becomes the very place where God begins His deepest work.
Moses learns humility, patience, and quiet obedience as he serves in obscurity. He goes from prince to shepherd, from impulsive strength to steady faithfulness. While Moses hears nothing, God is actively preparing both a nation in Egypt and a leader in the desert. The silence is not abandonment—it is alignment.
On an ordinary day, doing ordinary work, Moses comes to Horeb, the mountain of God. He isn’t seeking a miracle, but God is preparing one. The man who once belonged nowhere is about to belong to God alone.
This devotional invites us to embrace the truth that God often shapes us in places that feel foreign, quiet, or unnoticed. Identity collapse becomes the doorway to calling. Ordinary faithfulness becomes the pathway to divine encounter. And the God who prepared Moses in Midian is the same God shaping us in our everyday lives.
Stay faithful. God is preparing holy ground ahead.
