We open Episode 109 of the Yamology Podcast with a classic Yam Yap session, discussing how different teams are looking this season and whether the NBA is starting to develop some new identities. The Sixers are moving the ball beautifully, the Knicks have some seriously cool gold jerseys, and Tyrese Maxey is starting to generate MVP conversations. Could he genuinely become a top-10 player in the league?

Matt breaks down the Celtics vs Pistons game he watched with friends, while Alex gives his thoughts on the Spurs vs Thunder matchup from earlier in the morning. Skit couldn't make it this week, but there's still plenty to get into.

We discuss Jared McCain, Duncan Robinson and Javonte Green all going crazy from three, while both the Celtics and Pistons suffer bizarre four-minute scoring droughts. The Celtics and Jayson Tatum haven't exactly looked convincing, but Paul George dropping 38 points gives the Sixers plenty to be excited about. Are Philadelphia building something special?

Matt also goes on a rant about hating in person, before we close things out with a game of Salary Higher or Lower — which Alex suspects might just be an elaborate attempt to rage-bait him.

There's basketball, hot takes, questionable agendas and a very loud advert that apparently nobody thought to turn down.

The season is underway, the takes are flying, and Alex might be getting rage-baited again.
