What makes effective leadership possible within Alcoholics Anonymous' General Service structure?

Billy N. of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a former A.A. General Service Board Trustee, presents Concept Eleven during the October 20, 2026, Monday Night Service Workshop.

Concept Eleven examines the importance of qualified committees, corporate service directors, executives, staff members, and consultants in supporting the responsibilities of the General Service Board.

Although the trustees hold final responsibility for world service administration, they cannot carry out that work alone.

Bill W.'s Eleventh Concept addresses the selection of qualified people, clearly defined responsibilities, committee composition, rotation, working relationships, and appropriate compensation for specialized service workers.

The central principle is that effective service depends upon capable people, appropriate authority, and shared responsibility.

Drawing on his experience in General Service, Billy helps explore a subject essential to understanding how Alcoholics Anonymous maintains its worldwide services.

This workshop is particularly relevant to trusted servants, G.S.R.s, D.C.M.s, delegates, and members interested in studying the Twelve Concepts for World Service.
