Person: Udriște Năsturel
Location: Wallachia
Period: Early 17th Century

- Udriște Năsturel's father, Radu Năsturel, brought home a Latin copy of "The Imitation of Christ" from a military campaign, which became Udriște's curriculum for learning Latin.
- Udriște's sister, Elena, married Matei, who later became Prince Matei Basarab, elevating Udriște's status to the brother-in-law of the ruling prince.
