The Chicago Stars FC sit at 5-2-21, ranked 16th in the NWSL, following a 4-0 loss to Angel City FC where Maiara Niehues dominated with five shots. Despite the poor standing, Vlatko Andonovski is orchestrating a major overhaul, including the $700,000 acquisition of Racheal Kundananji from Bay FC. This episode breaks down the tactical implications of losing Maitane and retaining Julia Grosso and Alyssa Naeher.

We analyze the disparity between Chicago’s on-field struggles and its off-field ambitions, including the confirmed bid to host 2031 Women’s World Cup games alongside Portland. Key players discussed include Julia Grosso, who recorded 31 accurate passes in the last outing, and Alyssa Naeher, who faced significant pressure in goal. Michelle Alozie’s success with Nigeria adds international context to the squad's depth.

The hosts discuss the risks of international call-ups, such as Zambia players facing quarantine restrictions, which could impact Kundananji’s availability. With San Diego Wave topping the power rankings, Chicago faces a steep climb. Our final prediction projects one to two additional wins for the season, marking a transitional period focused on long-term stability rather than immediate playoff contention.

In this episode: Division Standing and Record Analysis · Strengths, Weaknesses, and Kundananji Integration · Season Outlook and Win Projection.
