The Chicago Cubs finished 89-73 and missed the postseason after a 4-1 loss to the San Diego Padres. With nine players including Justin Steele and Lucas Giolito on the 60-day IL, President Jed Hoyer has declared pitching acquisition his top priority. This mailbag analyzes the impact of the injury crisis on the rotation and bullpen.

Hosts Stephanie and Sean discuss the offensive stability provided by Alex Bregman and Gabriel Arias, the potential roles of Miguel Amaya and Pete Crow-Armstrong, and the strategic dilemma of trading Kevin Gausman versus developing young arms like Edward Cabrera. They also address the Wrigleyville rooftop dispute and the automated ball-strike system's impact on young pitchers.

Key topics include the future of Dansby Swanson, the viability of Clay Holmes in relief, and predictions for the 2027 season. The hosts predict a 92-95 win total for the Cubs if Hoyer successfully acquires a mid-tier ace and stabilizes the rotation.
