Will AI replace jobs—or help us work better? This panel discussion explores AI adoption, the future of work, and how businesses can embrace artificial intelligence while protecting their people, customers, and data.

From an account of an AI sales agent offering customers 90% off to employees worrying that greater productivity could cost them their jobs, the conversation examines the human stakes behind the technology.

The panel discusses:

• AI adoption in Australia and the challenges facing small businesses

• “Shadow AI”: employees using AI without their employer’s knowledge

• Job security, productivity, and the skills gap

• Data privacy, AI safety, and responsible implementation

• AI in schools: supporting learning without replacing independent thinking

• Customer service automation and the importance of human support

• The difference between useful AI tools and exaggerated promises

• Why AI’s biggest opportunities may still be ahead

Alongside the risks, the speakers explore practical benefits—from saving time on routine tasks to improving access to services and helping businesses do things they previously couldn’t.
