What if you know exactly what needs to happen, and you still feel stuck? That was me one night at my computer. I had a notebook full of tasks, I knew what every one of them was, and I could not get myself to start.

In this episode, I share what I did that night. It was so simple it almost feels silly to mention. I decided what came first and what came after it, and then I went to bed. The next day I moved through those tasks faster than I expected. The work hadn't changed. How I approached it had.

We talk about why everything can feel hard to start when you hold it all in your head at once. We also look at the invisible work of choosing the work, which is especially real when you work for yourself and no one hands you a list. I also explain why adding more productivity information doesn't always help me move, especially when I'm overwhelmed.

You'll hear why action can bring clarity. Choosing a useful first step can show you what thinking alone hasn't. I also share a time I'd carried a product problem around for weeks, and how a simple question from my husband helped me see where I was stuck. If you're an introvert who keeps everything inside, I want to encourage you to talk it through before your ideas feel tidy.

This episode is for the introspective introvert building a business, and for anyone with competing priorities, whether you're a stay-at-home mom, a student, or someone with a long to-do list. I also say plainly that if you're tired, you may need rest, not more pushing. But if you've rested and you still feel stuck, circling the same options over and over, a starting point can help.

You don't need to solve everything before you move. Give yourself somewhere to start, and let what you learn from that one step help you choose the next. So I'm curious: what helps you get moving when you feel stuck?
