A clairvoyant bookstore owner, A 500-year-old Bible, and a ghost’s desperate plea:"Por favor! Encuentra a mi familia! - Please! Find my family!" Inspired by 5 centuries of Spanish, Mexican, Irish and Native American family lore, all wrapped around the grit and heart of ordinary people with extraordinary lives.
"Complete perfection word by word ... This book has great pathos, as well as hopefulness." - Reg Olson
*****"If you are looking for a historical novel blended with adventure, romance, mystery, suspense, and a paranormal touch, A Waltz Across Time by C.C. Jirón is a perfect pick." 5-star review from Keith Mbuya Readers' Favorite.
*****"Jirón has produced a jewel of a story ... I found myself marking passages of the book just to go back and reread sentences that were too beautiful not to revisit." - 5-star review from Dorothy Garcia
A WALTZ ACROSS TIME spans New Mexico's history, interweaving a contemporary ghost story, bibliomystery and love that transcends time, with fictionalized accounts of indigenous peoples, colonials, explorers, ranchers, soldiers, and lovers.
Lucinda, a clairvoyant Santa Fe bookstore owner, promises the ghost of a one-eyed Marine she will return his family's 500-year-old Spanish Bible to his descendant and rightful heir, using clues stashed within its pages to guide her search.
Each clue opens a window to the lives and loves of individuals from a melange of cultures, carving out lives as best they can, creating adobe homesteads and fighting slavery with the Union Army, eloping amidst a hail of bullets, quietly and secretly feeding midnight fugitives, and prevailing over devastating war injuries. But Lucinda's search for the Bible's heir goes dark with the plight of a Marine who lost an eye at Okinawa and imagined a raven-haired angel just before his world, too, went dark. How can she keep her promise without losing sight of her own hopes and dreams?
