SEPANG DELIVERED ABSOLUTE CHAOS. 🇲🇾🌧️🏁
Formula 1’s return to Sepang gave us one of the wildest races of the 2026 season. A massive rain delay exposed a serious problem with the new-generation cars, with wet conditions and a software issue creating bizarre scenes before the race could even properly get underway.
Once we finally went racing, Max Verstappen was the class of the field, fighting his way back to the front and taking his first victory of 2026.
Ferrari somehow managed to put both drivers on the wrong side of the early strategy call, but Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc refused to let it ruin their afternoon, charging back through the field to finish P3 and P4. Meanwhile, George Russell suffered a heartbreaking late DNF, effectively crushing what remained of his championship hopes.
We also talk about McLaren being basically irrelevant, Fernando Alonso putting together one of his best performances of the season, and what Max’s dominant showing says about Red Bull going forward.
Was this proof that the 2026 cars have a serious wet-weather problem? How did Ferrari escape with a 3–4 after that strategy? And after Sepang, is the championship fight essentially over?
🎙️ 5 Lights Out. Hot Takes On.
