- The drawing inside was done on wide-ruled spiral paper and dated May 6, three days before Nora arrived at the hospital.
- The drawing included a building, a tree, a dog resembling Patches, and the sentence "THE DOG CAME BACK ON THURSDAY" in block letters.
- Nora Finch was admitted to Millhaven Regional early on May 9, transferred to the pediatric wing at approximately 3:15 a.m., and had a hospital wristband on her wrist that morning.
- Nora had drawn the picture at home on Friday, May 6, after Patches the beagle mix ran away on Thursday, May 5.
