In this Daily Devotion for September 24, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:13-15, a lament from God Himself, wishing His people would simply listen and receive what He was already offering freely. It was never a bargain requiring obedience first, but a gift refused only by stubbornness that chose something lesser instead.

This devotion applies that same pattern to how people resist the good news today. God is not reluctantly offering salvation, waiting to see whether anyone will earn it first. In Christ, the gift is already fully prepared, already fully paid for, already fully offered. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, ready and available to anyone willing to receive it. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same freely given gift is placed into our hands again, His true body and blood, for the forgiveness of sins.

Hear this lament today as an invitation, not a complaint aimed at someone else. Whatever ways you have walked instead of His, God's wish over you remains the same. Everything you need is already His to give.
