In this Daily Devotion for September 21, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:4-6, God's own voice describing real deliverance, a burden lifted, hands freed from the basket, all at once, by His action alone, a decree established permanently for every generation to remember.

This devotion applies that same pattern to Baptism. It is not a burden carried repeatedly, lifted a little more each time you return to it. It happened once, a real and decisive act where God relieved you completely from the crushing weight of sin and death, freeing hands that could never free themselves. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given once and held onto daily. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and just as Baptism marks that once for all deliverance, the Lord's Supper feeds and sustains it, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.

When old burdens try to creep back into your life, remember what God has already said. He has relieved you. He has freed you. That deliverance is decisive and remains yours permanently in Christ.
